If this thing gets BIG enough we could meet halfway, the only problem, all there is, COWS and ORANGES No PEOPLE.

Careful there Dan, some of us resemble that remark. I'm a ex-citrus grower and cattle rancher (the family just sold the ranch) here in the middle-of-nowhere- Lake Placid, Florida.
If my Superformance has been delivered I hope to make it down for the CobraBash.
Lake Placid might be the perfect spot for a future get together as it is two-hours from Ft. Myers, Sarasota, Tampa, Orlando and West Palm Beach. We could probably cruise from my place up to the Sebring raceway (30 minutes) to take our cars back to their roots.

Steve,
The only problem with Sebring is getting on the track for a non-school event.
I am only aware of acceptance on the track during driver school events. Also, the cost is substantially higher at Sebring.
I'll check into possibly getting into the South Florida Fair grounds where they conduct SCCA events. The Air Base is closed due to the over-seas conflict.
Looking like something for late this year.
Dan,
I'll contact the Valrico guys tonight.

Steve,
I like orange juice and steaks. I have been all over Florida and as someone just driving threw its oranges and cattle, sorry. I didn't know but they say we have more cattle than Texas. Come on down Cobra or no Cobra. WE had two SPF dealers in McDonough in April. Doug told me that SPF is running at capacity he had 8 coming in the following month and 6 where spoken for. Just let me know for sure, so I can, Hell you could bring STEAKS.

Steve,
My wife always orders a BIGGER steak than I when we go out. She really likes STEAK. With STEAK on the menu I think we could get more attendees.

I'm not suggesting we rent the track, but thirty miles of back roads up and back to snap some pictures in front of the entrance sign and cruise the infield areas might be fun for those who haven't been there.
Just some ideas for a weekend get together. I'm just finishing up a detatched gameroom with bar, pool table, darts, big screen TV, shuffleboard table and a checkerboard floor area to park the cobra on (inside). About 30 acres of large oak trees on Lake Istokpoga (Florida's 5th largest lake) with a 50 year old hunting cabin built by great grandad-- maybe a good spot for a cobra picnic. I'll put the airboat in the water and we can go look for some big gators.
As I said before I'm two-hours from everywhere and oh yeah the last two miles to my place is a straight road through cattle pasture and grove with no houses!
Dan
Still own about 30 head of cattle, I'll stuff a small one in the trunk and you can cut your own steak!

Steve,
I have seen lots of SPF Cobras and I also just put a trunk in my Cobra last week, I don't think it would hold any more than a few STEAKS. I told you when we talked when you joined our club that if given enough time we would get all the Cobra Enthusiasts together. If you come we will be talking about where to have the next Cobra Bash. Your house or mine, I did promise Ed we would have a Cobra house warming at his new house, the one with the 4 car garage. I only have a 3 car garage. See you in August.

4 car garage....
I'm working on it.
Hey, I'll take those steaks. I've got plenty of room in the trailer.
We can talk about it when we get together.

Dan,
Put me and my wife, Marissa, on the list. I'll still be building my Hunter, so we'll probably be bringing the Mustang.

Dan,
Renee and I spent the evening out with Tom Jones.
We got in too late to call the Valrico guys....
I'll give it a shot tonight.
Tom has the body on his frame and in primer.
Car is almost finished, waiting on the 3 link from FFR.
He is having a rich fuel problem that is giving him fits.
Cant figure why the EEC is dumping so much fuel into the system.
We will get it sorted out, fear not!
Tom and his wife are signed up to go to the bash and hopefully will have this Cobra finished by August.
We talked about the two of us hosting the 2nd event for later this year.
We will be holding the event in the Tampa area around the last week of October or first ~ 2nd week of November.
We feel like the weather will be cooler and it's the last "Bash" before the holiday season.
Tom lives near a large parking lot (Dog Tracks) that might possibly allow us to have a auto-X? We will ask the owners to see what we could do.
I haven't spoken to Jim Pomroy lately but I'm sure he will be going to your bash.
That's all for now.
Talk to you later,
Ed

Ed,
I have posted all who have actually said they will attend on page two of this thread. I will keep it up dated until August when everyone will be contacted as a reminder. I have not contacted my locals yet either, but will do so shortly. I told you it takes about two months lead time to set up a party, until this thing takes off. By the time we get together I should have my club jacket to show off. Phil Monroe promised delivery before DVSFII. I will also have pictures from the DVSFII which I'll be attending in June. I also have a few video's I've been collecting, DVSFI, Deane Boothe's two day build, Bitten by the Snake, and Carrol Shelby a heart of performance. See everyone in August.

I'm/we're coming to.
Can I get there by boat? (The only way the cobra will make it is by trailer.)

OK, Let's start with Rich, I can set you up with Ed Kamptner he is coming down from Valrico. Call Ed at 813-661-2649. Joe, I already have you down as coming. You can't make it to my house by boat because I live on a fresh water lake and there is no way to the salt water. My brother and brother-in-law both live on salt in the Cape on water with access, if you have to come by water. Bob, you are welcome but I don't have you on my list and I need additional information email me- dwulff@swfla.rr.com. I'm going to call everyone a week before to remind them of August 10th. For those that would like to stay over night I already listed the Casa Loma Motel in a above post give them a call (941) 549-4877.
