For all DSCC members
Dear Fellow Deep South Cobra Club Members -
I'm sure many of you have read about Double Venom's Spring Fling II that will be happening in Ohio in mid June. According to those who went last year, it is a terrific event for Cobra people. I believe a number of DSCC members including CobraDan plan to attend.
You may also have read that the event is a fund raiser in the name of Team Jenny with proceeds going to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a genetic condition inherited by about one out of every 2,000 children that usually kills those afflicted by their early twenties. The CF Foundation is a wonderful organization that helps families coping with CF with services like a pharmacy making essential medications more affordable. It also funds aggressive scientific research to extend the lives of those with the illness.
I would like to ask those DSCC members not attending DVSF II in person to participate in this event by making a contribution to the CF Foundation. We can do it as a club by sending our checks to CobraDan by June 19. He will deliver them as a gift from the DSCC at DVSF II. Donations should be made payable to "Cystic Fibrosis Foundation" and are fully tax deductible as charitable donations. Please write out a check NOW and mail it to:
Dan Wulff
2021 N.E. 3rd Street
Cape Coral, FL 33909
I'd like to thank each of you personally for supporting this request. I lost my fifteen year old son to CF just last summer, so I know how devastating this illness is, and I know how much the CF Foundation helps. Please be as generous as you can.
Tommy

Tom, I think this is a grand idea and put me down for $50. I'll send Dan my check tomorrow. Thank you for bringing this up and giving us an oportunity to participate even if we can't go to SF II this year.

Tommy And Jerry,
I will be waiting by the mail box each day for the mail I hope our club comes on strong.
Dan
I just got a personal email from Ed Combs(Double Venum) and I'm posting it below:
Dan,
As old and as leathered as I am, and I know I truly am, reading these kinds of posts just shake me to the core.
We are doing a good thing aren't we?

Tommy, thanks for posting this message. I was at DVSF last year and it was one of the greatest life experiences that I have ever had. The DSCC should have started collecting for this year's event long before this.
I have sent Ed items for the auction, I have checks in my possesion, and was one of the instrumental folks in getting Miller Beer to sponsor this event, all inthe name of the DSCC.
We need more DSCC folks to step up to the plate and support this worthwhile event.
I will remember your son in my prayers.
See y'all there.
Lee

Dan - I'm mailing you a check this morning. I hope you get a bunch of 'em.
Tommy - I'm terribly sorry to hear about your loss. I hope events like the DVSF II can help in some miniscule way to heal your pain.
Everyone - It only takes a minute to write a check and mail it. You'll be happy you did.

CobraDoc,
I'm leaving on June 19th, about 9am not as early as I normally leave (start 4am-stop 4pm) because the wife is working the night before. I've checked the list of people going up to DVSFII, I don't see anyone from the West Coast that I know of ( we do have a few DSCC members coming). I'll be traveling I-75N until I hit Cincinnati then I-71N until London, Ohio. Hopefully getting in on June 20th for dinner. I'm trailering my car and if someone wants to tag-a-long it would be nice.

I'm from the Cleveland, Ohio area and it takes me 19-20 hours from the Cape to Cleveland without towing a car. I was at DVSFI last year without a Cobra and I want to be there around dinner time on Thursday. To make it nice, it takes 2 days to travel. Give me a call if you want to set something up. SEND THOSE CHECKS NOW
Come on guys I have only collected from four members. The total so far is $395, but Tom's check was for $250. CF has attached the Cobra Community, time is running out, send me that check NOW. If you wanted to send a check and you have forgotten(Jerry), now is the time. No Key Lime Cheese Cake for DVSFII this time , instead a check for Team Jenny, CF. Thanks to those that have taken the time to mail me a check.

Time is almost up!
If you're a last minute person, now is the time to send CobraDan a check made out to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. He needs to receive it by June 18 to be able to deliver it at DVSF II in the name of the Deep South Cobra Club.
Stop what you're doing right now and don't click another button until you've found your check book and put a check in the mail. Nothing else you do today is likely to make you feel as good. Thanks.

Well,
we only have 7 donations including mine with a grand total of $465. I'll be donating another $50 when I try to win the FFR Coupe, which I would throw back into the pot because the wife said I can't build any more kits.

COME ON GUYS! $5 EACH IS OK, DON'T BE BASHFUL!
If you can afford a Cobra - ANY Cobra, you can spend $5 on a very worthwhile cause. If everyone in our DSCC sent in $5, we would add $1125 to the lousy $465 we have now. Please get generous and send a check made to Team Jenny NOW!

How much did we raise
Dan
I snent in my $25 and others sent in much more. I was wondering how much we raised for Team Jenni?
Like Jerry said five lousy bucks from everyone would have made a differance.

A heartfelt thanks
My heartfelt thanks go out to each of you who contributed to the CF Foundation. And a special thanks goes to CobraDan for carrying it all to DVSF II. You did a wonderful thing.
If you intended to contribute but didn't get to it before DVSF II, you can still contribute directly to the Foundation. For more information, visit the CF Foundation web site at: http://www.cff.org/
