Anyone in NW Fl have a 37 deg flare tool?
...that I could borrow?
I'd really like to run hardlines for fuel from the fuel pump to the engine compartment, then use AN tubing/fittings to the engine. But, I can't see paying $80 for a tool I'll use to make four flares.
Thanks,
Pete

Hey,
Go to your local airport and find out where the guys hang out that restore antique airplanes.
Or ask one of the mechanics at the Beechcraft or Cessna dealer.
Most of those guys will gladly help you out.
Cheers,

Plan B
Cut your line to the finished length and send the lines and fittings to me.
I spent the $95.00 and bought the Parker flaring tool for doing AN fittings. All my lines (fuel and brake are AN) are 37s.
I will flare them and return.
Just let me know !!!
Cheers again,
Bill Cook

Wicked Fast,
I appriciate the offer, but the lines are about 8' long. I can't even picture the mess they would be after UPS was done with 'em . If I can't find anyone nearby I think I'll just run hose to the tank.

PSB,
You should be able to find a compression fitting that goes from hard line to A/N.
I purchased my set for the pressure and return lines from Amazon Hose here in Tampa.
Check your local shops and see if they have similar.

Flare Tool
PSB,
AutoZone has a Loan-a-Tool program that is great. You "buy" the tool, use it, then bring it back for a full refund. Double Flare Tools are in the program.
This is about the only useful thing AutoZone offers other than air fresheners and candy bars.

I put a 45 deg flare on the end of the tube and used a compression fitting and a NPT to AN adapter.
