Default Mystery 427 Engine for excelguru

Have you noticed that excelguru (AKA Keith) is ready to get his new 427 stroker from Southern Automotive? Rumors are that Unique Motorcars, Maurice Weaver is currently building a wider frame to acceot the BIG new engine that Keith has on order! This reporter sneaked a picture of the new MONSTER engine recently.

We understand that this engine is around 5,000 HP! Keith wants to have the biggest, baddest, Cobra in the Eastern U.S. Bill Parham wouldn't comment on the "true HP" on this baby.

How about it Keith? How BIG is it? (the engine, that is!)

Thumbs up

Keith,
I see your trying to keep up with the Sorkey's, Alan Sorkey one of our newest members with his SOHC Ford 427 with 800HP! You can see it here.

I was going to ask you how your job search was going.
I'm glad to see your Cobra project is still in first gear. I also see Bill has wiped away all that drool that was on the duel quads.

Thumbs up I heard that MONSTER!

Keith!!!!

I was on the phone with Susan and Lewis this morning when there was a loud eruption in the background! Lo and behold, it was the McFarland Monster Motor screaming to life!

Egads man... what are you going to do with that fire-breathing, asphalt-ripping, rubber-melting motor? A mild-mannered, kind-hearted, gentle soul such as yourself certainly doesn't need all that Southern Automotive supplied 427SO horsepower!

Congratulations!

Dave

P.S. Are you getting any sleep anymore with this dream about to happen?

OOOOH YEEEEEEEAAAAA, BABY!!!!

Hi guys!

Jerry - Great work with the photo editing! I love it.

chill - Your first photo looks more like the engine I used to have in my Galaxy 500 back when I was a younger man.

Dave - Thanks for the phone call! I called Susan and heard the engine. Man, that thing sounds good!

For those who don't already know, the engine is a 427 side-oiler block with an offset-ground 427 crank. This strokes it to 462 cubes. Bill used Eagle H-beam rods, Wiesco (sp?) pistons, Edelbrock aluminum heads and water pump, Dove roller rockers, and of course dual 600-CFM Holleys. The block was already drilled for hydraulic lifters and I elected to go this route since it will only see street use for the most part.

We're gonna pick up the car from Unique this coming weekend! Man, I can't wait.

Keith

P.S. - Wilf - I guess the Lakewood will match the car.

Oh we're all in trouble now--there go the streets. Keith, I am rel happy for you and look forward to the feedback on your heads and roller rockers/lifters. I need to futz with my distributor this weekend and bring Cobra back to life since your last visit. If I can help you out with anything over weekend, let me know.

Jerry, your pic is the nicest centerfold I ever saw! What kind of heads are those?

Mike - The heads are Edelbrocks and that's about all I know. I'm not sure about the exact model. You'd have to ask Bill or Lewis.

I'm gonna pick it up tomorrow (Friday) and drive it back to SC... all in one day (whew). After 15 hours of driving, I might become stir crazy!

Dan - I forgot to respond to your post. Man, there's no way I could keep up with Sorkey's 800-HP ride. Geez, what an awesome engine! I'd love to see that car in person sometime. Maybe he can bring it to our next annual meet (if it doesn't rain).

Keith

Kieth,

Man, stop in Augusta at I=20 and let me hear that motor and see that car. It sound awesome. Or if you need someone to drive with you (I'll stand in line, nevermind.) Seriously, if you've got 15 minutes, I'd love to take a look at on your way through. I'll buy you a powerade.

Default Want Actual Pics After Paint!

Keith,
Since I shared a ride with you in "My Power Stroke Diesel Cobra", I expect you to drive the new red bomb down to Southern Automotive when I pick up my car with the new engine in a couple of weeks. I want to take pics of that red car for the club web site! I also want a ride! I'll let you know when I'll be there via phone.

Jerry
