GAINESVILLE
Hello Ed,
Rick Emmons here. I will be in G-ville this weekend and looking forward to helping out with timing and starting of cars. I'll have my stopwatch warmend up and I'm making a time chart to post. I hope you have room for me as a crew member. I will see you on Friday night at the meeting. We're gonna freeze our tail pipes off.

With having thrown out all my long pants and I know my ice scraper I hope you guys have a great time. I will be going to a car show here in the Cape on Saturday but I'm leaving the Cobra in the garage so it can stay WARM.

I have a question. Since this is my first time at a racing event, what is the fuel situation like? Do i need to bring extra fuel or is there fuel on premise to purchase in case we run low? Inquiring minds want to know.

Dan,
You sissy!
What do you mean leave the Cobra in the garage?
Unbelievable!
The weather can't get any better for cruising in a Cobra.
Sure it's a little chilly, but would you prefer it to be wet?
C'mon man, THIS IS Cobra season in Florida.
We've been waiting all year for this weather!
Sissy!

Frank,
We will be filling up at a gas station before we enter the track.
You wont need to fill during the day.
The most we should run with a full group is about 40 laps each (if all goes well).
Dino is not attending so we wont need to stop and clean up any water
Just bring extra clothing as it will be cold!
Perfect weather for additional horsepower!

We usually fill up before we go to the track friday night. Unless you get less than 3MPG a full tank should be more than enough. No guarantee here but you should get in about (7) 5 lap sessions which is less than 60 miles of track time. You will give out of gas before the car.
I will try to bring a fuel can.

Saturday: Mostly sunny skies. High 49F. Winds WNW at 5 to 10 mph.
Saturday (24 hours): Mostly sunny. Highs in the upper 40s and lows in the low 30s.
With any luck we may see mid 50's which will be fine. I live in the Pensacola Florida area and when it was sunny and just above 50 I was riding around with my window down.

I would suggest that if you have an over flow on your gas tank to not fill all the way up. Last time someone was leaking fuel on the track and had to go burn some off on the street for a bit.
Like Ruble said, you should have plenty on one tank. You can
always get more at lunch time if you need to.
