Default No Vipers?

What gives? I'm sure the story's been told but could someone please explain again why there are no Vipers allowed. I told my friend, the dummy, to build a cobra and not buy a Viper!

Chad;
I was told the reason no Vetts or Vipers was because the track owners felt that these cars with their high horsepower, big tires & weight were doing to much damage to the track.
