Default Shift knob from Finishline

Any of you local Atl guys in the market for a shift knob? I bought the black knob with the four speed shift pattern (reverse us left and up). I purchased a new Hurst aluminum stick and it won't fit. I bought a standard Hurst knob at Barnett Performance today. I paid $25 plus $7 shipping. I'd be happy to let it go for the $25. It's still covered in shrink wrap. Let me know before I attempt to send it back.

Randy,

What shifter are you planning to use? Are you doing the "correct", swept-forward goose-neck looking kit or the "Weaver Special"?

Tony, I'm going with the FIA correct short straight shifter. I think Unique installs a Hurst unit.

Randy,

My car came with a straight shifter (Hurst) that comes out of the tunnel up near the dash on the driver's side of center. It had a 7.5" straight chrome stick with "Indy" on the side. I don't know if this the FIA style or not. Does this sound like what you've got?

Randy, my suggestion to you is to consider modifying that shifter package or you will likely run into the same problem I had. With a straight shifter stick, you run into the problem of jamming your knuckles into the dash when firing into third gear. There just isn't enough clearance between the knob and the dash. I did a fair amount of research on my options and ended up purchasing a different stick from Hurst. It looks awesome! The stick is black annodized aluminum and it curves back about 1.75" and a little towards the driver. It's about an inch shorter. The feel is perfect. I added the black hurst shift knob with the appropriate H pattern in white. What an improvement. You'll have to check mine out.
