Yes, I just looked it up on the internet and got some info....24th Annual Gulf Coast Regional Mustang Show @ University Mall March 21-23.....
There will be approx. 4 to 6 cars and about a dozen people from my home town going and they told me about it today and asked me to go with them....If nothing major goes wrong between now and then I will plan to attend....
Wondering if any DSCC members are going ????? Would be nice to meet up with some of the guys there....
Besides being a Mustang show,it is an all Ford Show from what I can gather.... They even have a catagory for "Special Interest (Ford Powered)" vehicles such as Cobra's and Street rods I guess.....
Saw some of last year's pictures and there were a couple of Cobras....
Have you ever attended one of these shows and do you plan to attend this one??????
Let me know
David

I have been to several of the shows. they usually take up the whole front parkng lot of University Mall(right next to I-10 at the Davis Highway exit). There is one section for old mustangs(64 to 73), one for new mustangs(74 and up), a small section for other ford products and a swap meet with old and new parts available. Probably have over 250 cars there. Ford Motorsports or some other big ford sponser usually shows up with a big rig. There is a guy from Pensacola who brings a real 289 Cobra to some shows. It needs a little TLC.
There is everything from junkers to cars that look like they just got off the showroom floor.
I have never seen more than 4 to 5 cobras there at one time. I think we should try to crash the party.
I love old Mustangs and have owned a 1966 2+2, 1970 boss 302, and a 1971 Mach 1. Wish I still had the Boss 302 as it was my first and to this day my favorite car. There are usually a bunch of Boss 302's and Shelby Mustangs.

As of now I'm planning on attending,will drive my 65 Fastback there (6 hour drive) from here (central Louisiana). Like I said there are about 6 cars and a dozen guys from here going....Will probably call for reservations at the University Holiday Inn as they are the host hotel...Downloaded entry form from the internet last nite and will soon fill it out and send it in....
Would love to meet up with you and any other DSCC members there and swap lies.....
Maybe you could spread the word to other members in the area?????
Thanks;
David

There are several hotels right next to the parking lot at the mall. Hampton Inn, Red Roof inn and the Holiday Inn. There are a couple of less expensive hotels behind the mall like the super 8(bill elliott will not be there)
Hope to gather the DSCC guys and lets pray for sunny skies.

Just to let you know I'm from Pensacola and I'll probably be at the show trying to sell my 69 Convertible. I spend a lot of time at www.vintage-mustang.com and I know quite a few people that are planning on attending the show so the attendence should be quite good for only a regional MCA show. Usually it's national..
If you plan on staying overnight I'll offer my garage if you're afraid of leaving your car in the parking lot.
Hope to see you there,
James

Thanks for the very generous offer....I'm not sure but I think they are supposed to provide securtiy for the cars at the show both nites.....Will have to see when I get there,if not,I'll probably just park it in front of my hotel room.....
It is a red 65 fastback GT-350 look-a-like....May also advertise it for sale as I"ve got the itch for a Daytona Coupe.... Do many people sell there cars there or advertise them??????What are the chances of a sale there?????
Hope to see you and many others there.....

IMO, there have been about 10-15 cars during a National car show sitting in the corral. I have no idea about how many sell, but IIRC most of them seem overpriced. If you have a good price on your car most likely you'll get a lot of interest. It's 35 bucks to sit your car in the corral so it's not cheap.

If you guys are interested in attending car shows in the South, you should consider attending the annual DSCC gathering in May. See the seperate thread for more details about it.
Yea, I know... a shameless plug. But we have to get people interested somehow.

Keith;
Nothing wrong with the plug,I do plan to attend one, one of these days,but Florida is a stretch for me.....Six hour drive to Pensecola for this show.Going ain't too bad, it's that dat gum Sunday all day drive home and work monday morning that's the killer... The only reason I'm going is that there are four or five cars from my area and a dozen guys going.so we will caravan down there and if anything happens either way I'll have a tow home....
Also, planning on going to Tulsa this summer with the same crew,never been to a SAAC event and would like to attend one....
With these two shows and my offshore fishing trips,I kinda used-up all my "yard passes" as my buddy calls them for this summer.....
Still plan to go to a DSCC event as soon as possible and look forward to meeting some of the guys.........
