Thumbs up Riverstone--Canton Cruise

I think the Riverstone meet starts this month (3rd Saturday)---I have not seen the paper yet, but I think this is accurate.

They usually get a great showing, in excess of 700 cars some nights, especially if the weather is good, which right now looks ideal for this Saturday. It's really a great venue, because there are lots or restaurants, movie theatre, shopping, etc, so the family has some outlet.

Anyone from the club interested in meeting somewhere around 4:00PM and cruise up there together??

I would suggest somewhere along Hwy 9, Hwy 140, or I-575 would work??

Letmeknow.......

Thumbs up

This sounds good. A good way to start the season.

How about it Tony and David. We can meet somewhere on this side of town and cruise on over and meet Charlie and others.

Gentlemen,
Ed Gollob already started a post on this cruise. Looks like we may have a good turnout. He proposed via private message a meeting place already. He proposal is to meet at the Quick Trip located off 575 exit 11, turn right and the QT is located at the first traffic light. Arrive at 4 PM. After gathering up we can all arrive and park together.

Hopefully we will have some nice weather, look forward to seeing everyone again.

Yeah, I see Ed's post now....sorry I missed that, but at least I now know where you'll be meeting....

For those of us (Tony, Hector, Alex) on this side of town, I would propose we meet somewhere around 3:30, then ride over together and meet the rest at the Quik Trip??

Any suggestions for a meeting spot? Would Andretti's parking lot work? We can then go right up Hwy 140 and work our way over to the Quik Trip.

I'm open to suggestions---whatever works for those coming over from east of Woodstock/Canton.

I may do this, if I don't do the Porsche rally on Saturday, and if some other toy related things are out of the way. I'll be in my parts car

TC;

Good to hear from 'ya---I've been meaning to contact you, but the job keeps getting in the way.

Hope all is well on your end----family, job and projects.....I need to stop over and see the progress on the many projects you have under way.

Maybe we can catch up Saturday.

I don't know about this one, guys. After last Saturday's all day event, I may be pushing my luck against yard duty. Does sound like fun with all the participation. What time does the event actually start and end?

Hey Guys,

I live off of 140 and will be working on the car so honk when you go buy.

For the curious I had my MRI and MRA done Wednesday. The results were good - the brain or lack there of looked ok. The cervical revealed the source of my splitting headaches. I'm hoping PT or cortizone shots will eliminated the need for surgery. I may need to consider installing a 2 barrel carb to limit the neck snapping acceleration.

For those of you that haven't experienced an MRI it is a sneak preview of what it will be like when you are put in the coffin. The noise made me think I was a torpedo ready for launch.

Tony,
This is a late afternoon/early evening event. I'm not sure about the exact times but I think it runs from around 3-9PM? Hopefully this will give you plenty of time to finish up your yard work during the day. Hope to see you and your cobra again on Saturday.

So it’s looking like we will meet at Andretti’s parking lot between 3:15 and 3:30. Blast away at 3:30 to meet GB and Ed Gollob at the Quick Trip off I-575 and exit 11 at 4:00.
From there, drive up to the Riverstone meet.

I hope you guys know how to get there. I’ve never been up to this event before.

Charlie, what’s the easiest way to get to Andretti’s from the east. I’ll be coming from let’s say I-85 and Pleasant Hill?

Hector

Hector;

I used to live in Woodstock, so know the area well, and the event. You'll enjoy it if you have not been before.

You probably want to come over and take 400 North off 285, and come on up to the Mansell Rd exit. Go left (west) onto Mansell and travel about 2 1/2 miles to Hwy 9, and turn right going north. Andretti's is about 1/4 mile on the left side of the street. We'll just head up Hwy 140 from there and catch the other group at the Quik Trip.

Tony---yard work early--hope to see you at Andretti's.
Chill???

GS, great news on the MRI. I'd get claustophic in one of those things.

If I do the thing tomorrow, I will likely have to meet y'all there, all depends on when I pick up a new toy tomorrow

Charlie, Hector;

You guys still meeting for the trek north? I know it's supposed to clear up a bit and get warmer. I'm beginning to question the forecast. I'll call Charlie's cell phone if I'm coming.

Yes, I'll be leaving Lawrenceville sometime around 2:15 to 2:30.

That should get me to Andretti's sometime around 3:15.

See you there.

Hello all,
Good seeing you guys again today. What a day it was! Started out cold and cloudy in Paulding County in Chip's Cobra and ran out of gas on the way to the show. Then the blinkers went on the blink. Then the brake lights quit! BUT all fixed now and had a great day despite it all! Congrats on the little one Keith. 3 weeks old and already cruzin' the car shows, too cool! GB, thanks for letting me try your Cobra on, it was a GOOD fit!
Happy Easter every one and we'll see 'ya the next time!

Chad

It was good to see you again, Chad. I need to bum a ride from your friend with that Viper GTS. That car was a sweet ride. It was also good to meet John (he had the yellow/white car with the humongous fuel-injected motor). Sorry I missed the rest of you guys, but I admired all your cars (nice turnout, by the way). I didn't have much time to hang around. I was running the baby around town to visit all the grandparents.

Man, that cruise-in has almost out-grown itself. They need to either find another venue or get permitting to take up more of the parking lot. Some people start showing up at noon. They announced that it is now the largest cruise-in (different than a "car show") on the East coast. Yep, right there in little Canton. I remember when Riverstone was a wooded mountain (they moved the mountain to build the mall... literally).
