I live in Green Cove Springs, Florida. Buying Superformance next week. My State Farm Agent declined insurance. Anybody have any suggestions, names of companies writing in Florida, etc.

Need help please, thanks.

Lynn,

Call Dan Hardiman @ 903-597-5700. He's a cobra guy, on his second one now. His dad even owns one. He's great to work with, knows exactly what these cars are about and made several recommendations to me. We had an extensive conversation about my car and his, he's in this for more than another insurance contract.

Forgot to add: I bought insurance from him this week. I had an insurance card within 30 minutes of talking to him.

Lowell,

Thanks for your response. Will get in touch with him pronto. Hopefully he will be able to write in Florida.

If you ever need anything in this direction, let me know.

Dan

Thanks for your response. Wow, what a great forum this is for owners and enthusiasts. I am the new kid on the block, just bought car and signed up to Cobra Club yesterday. Already, this website has been valuable to me.

Will get in touch today with American Hobbyist Insurance.

As I said to Lowell, if you ever need anything in the Jacksonville area, just holler.

Thanks,

Lynn

Lynn,
Not trying to hi-jack your thread, but there's a pretty good group of Cobra owners in the Jacksonville area. One of our members, Larry Weisman, is hosting a grand opening this weekend for his new business, American Garage Co., which will cater to Cobra replicas and hot rods in general. If you can, try to get over there on Saturday afternoon (May 10th) and meet the gang. There should be plenty of Cobras, food (BBQ), drinks, T-shirts, DJ, etc. The address is 10430 Atlantic Blvd. (1/4 mile west of 9A) and tel. # is (904) 642-2007 or 0907. I'll be at Silver Springs this weekend, but we'll meet up soon I'm sure.

Mike

Default Go with American Hobbyist Ins.

Lynn, I agree with Dan. A.H.I. is the
best deal that a Florida Cobra owner
can currently get. Their rates are
quite fair.

LYNN,
I am insured with AON collector car insurance. Best rates, no seat time, stated value, no mileage restrictions, all the best coverage for the best price. Great driving record brought rates down to the ridiculous level. Full coverage costs me $272.00/year. I'll fax you a copy of the deal. Call me at 770-623-6111 e.s.t.. or reply on my private forum email address.

Sincerely,

David L. Valdez

Lynn,

I use State Farm Insurance in Gainesville. If your agent didn't want to cover you, then you should find another agent. I'm in Gainesville, FL and use Wendy LaPointe's office. Specifically I deal with Stephanine.

The "trick" with State Farm, and most other insurance places I have found, is that you never EVER refer to your car as a KIT! Call it a replica, and if your State Farm agent is worth his salt, he will reference their manual, which specifically states, "antique and replicas."

My insurance is about $110/yr, it's a stated (NOT agreed) value policy and the big difference over most other kit/hot rod companies is that I can drive mine to work, I can take on a trip, I can do anything I want just like any of my other cars. No mileage limits, etc.

Stephanine's number is 352-331-3000. Tell her you talked to me and have a Cobra too, she should know just want you need.

Lynn,
The number for the AON insurance agent is: 877-765-7790. I believe they are one of the best around.

Sincerely,

David L. Valdez
