Personal property tax here is not a big problem. If you tell them that your car is worth say $2,500.00, they will likely tax you accordingly. They won't want to see your car and they won't need any proof. It will help if your car is registered as a 65 or so, but they are usually pretty reasonable if you explain that your car is "homebuilt" or a kit. My Unique 289-FIA was taxed as a 64 ford--paid about $25.0o0 per year--much less than my current 2002 Porsche twin turbo!
