JOhn,
It's about time! You WILL be back, this I promise you. I know you have been to this track before, but it is so much better the way we run things. Lots more track time, and much faster speeds. Ed |
Ed
I will have a few new toys to play with you guys the next event. No more hard as rock Kumho's Canton Oil pan so I can quit worring about oil pressure plus a few more ponies with new windage tray http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...age075-med.jpg Goodyear Street tires :3DSMILE: http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...age076-med.jpg http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...age077-med.jpg http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...age078-med.jpg |
Ruble,
You call those street tires? I checked out Roebling Road last Saturday when the Porsche guys were running. Then Hooters on the way home. TL :MECOOL: |
I see Ruble had Christmas early this year. Stay warm and have fun.
Dan |
It's about time Ruble.
Ruble,
It's like I've been telling Pomroy all these years. It's not the car, it's the driver! Now you wont have any excuses when I kick your @$$ on the track! Listen, Jim has tried to beat me in everything from a Cobra, Corvette, the Blue Monster and a 2003 Cobra... Still not able to do it. So bring it on pal, I need a new challenge. Someone needs to step up and pick up where Jim left off. I've given up hope on Jim. Lately, his times are getting further and further behind mine... Nah, I'm just getting faster! :D Those tires look cool man. What did they cost you, front/back? Sizes? Ed |
ED,
We know you are a pretty good driver - now we'll see how you compare with the likes of "THE JUDGE," IF HE SHOWS UP THIS TIME AROUND! As I recall, Dan Fortin kind of gave all of you guys a "Good A$$ Whipping" back in early spring. Now be nice to all of us Wanna Bee's, or we'll tell Santa to fill your stockings with coal, and have the reindeer crap all over your yard :D :D :D HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL MY DSCC FRIENDS - you too Ed :3DSMILE: TL :MECOOL: & Carol too |
The "Judge" is signed up so we will see how I match up with him and a few more of the West Palm Beach Cobra guys.
I'll be nice, I promise. Keep in mind, It's been a while since we have had our pre-race trash talking! :D Do you guys have a preference as to the track layout? I know Terry and Tom would rather not have the hairpin included, but that is what separates the good drivers from the wanna-bees :D I'll post two options and see which is preferred. I'll then try to get it OK'd by the NHRA. Happy Holidays to all. Getting ready to go on vacation. I'll be around till Tuesday 12/16 Ed |
Ed
The rims are Aero stock car wheels. 15 x 8 with a 4-1/2" backspace up front and 15 x 10 with a 4-1/2" backspace in the rear. The rims cost about $285 total delivered to my house. The Tires are the same ones Terry Lee ran the last time his beast actually ran. You are going to feel bad if I beat your times in my FAT Hunter with my teeney little soccer mom motor. Jim are you going to let him talk bad about you like that? |
Jim has to let me talk trash like that.
I can back it up, he cant! Oh yeah, Finally some trash talking again.... OK Ruble, now you've got some new rubber. Lets see if you've got the b@ll$ to drive her fast! :D Ed |
Hair Pin?
For the record:
I love the hairpin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's the only place on that track where I can use some of my cubes and torque coming out of it.:D :D :D The feeling of my back being pushed thru the seat in 2nd gear coming out of there is almost as good as an orgas'm. Ruble, 1 and 1/2 times out of 3 tries isn't all bad for a proto-type engine setup in my books. Clutch slave problem the first time, and distributor problem the last time out. Hell, even the shuttle has its problems. The engine itself is great, it just needs more track straights to strech its legs. Dennis fixed all minor problems after RRII. I even have a real catch can now! I should be prime for Feb.:) :) :) I can't wait to hear your reaction to how those tires stick. WEST PALM GUYS: Chuck West, you better show up for this one. Manny Lopez, are you afraid of a little track like Gainesville now that you are the "King" of Homestead. JLP "The JUDGE", we've been working hard on our skills, are you up to the challange. Who else from WPB or Jupiter is up for a little "Whip Ed's A$$"? MIAMI GUYS: Fair warning; if you don't show this time, we're going to call the vote! :p Flanker, no more silly excuses. We've heard too many already! Doc, you got that gonad transplant yet? You're going to need 'um to keep up with us. Dan Fortin, I heard about your situation, and hope all is OK now. We would love to see again - Now there's a smooth driver. WEST COAST Cobra Dan, You got the wax off yet? Not that we expect to see you run that thing. But just in case, I've got some spare hose clamps if you need them. Tom, you like the Hairpin too, don't you? TRASH, DID I HEAR TRASH? Jim, it's alright, we can pick up the slack for you. ;) Ed, I'm just warming up, but thought it would be nice to let the other join in too. Just another Xmas present for you. Ain't it fun to be on the top and have everyone wanting to knock you down?:D :D :D Well, I hope this dosn't get out of hand - but go for it guys!**) **) **) TL:MECOOL: |

I just hope that Terry was right about the Goodyear Stock Car...err.....street tires. ;) |
Ed,
FWIW, you have to keep the hairpin in the layout, it's my only reason for switching to the DN 5 speed!!! ;) That hairpin has really pissed me off in the past because my gearing has kept me from launching out of the turn.....I'm hoping that better gearing with the new trans will give me better times!! Now I find out I'm gonna need race rubber just to keep up with Ruble......oh the humanity.....where does it all end??? Seriously though, I love the rush of going WOT into that turn and then mashing on the brakes at the last second......:3DSMILE: Mike :MECOOL: |
Mike
I am just trying to keep my little ford ahead of your webber carbed Chevy with the trick Doug Nash tranny. |
Are you sure there will not be any snow on the track as Gainesville is so far NORTH.
