Default Florida vs Georgia, Which way do I go??

Registration Question Fl. vs Ga.
I was wondering which state has the easiest registration process: Florida or Georgia. Since I have a residence in both I was wondering which one I should register the vehicle in to experience the less headaches??????

It all depends were in Georgia. If you are in the 13 county metro Atlanta area, forget it. You will have to pass an emmission test that you will fail.

If your car is registered as a '65 or similar, you are OK since all cars that are 25 years old or older are excempt from the testing.

In Florida, you show up with your title, pay your fees and you leave with no issues.

One more thing, in Georgia you will pay property tax for the estimated value of the car. In Florida "nada".

Take your pick.

If you register in Florida, the vehicle year will be the year your kit was manufacturered. The law was recently changed - here's a link to the new DMV Procedure: Procedure TL-48

No way to title it as a 1965 in Florida anymore

You WILL pay sales tax in FL, however. My FFR tag cost over a thousand bucks, and the nice DMV lady went easy on me, she just charged me tax on the FFR invoice, not what I actually have in it!

Easy enough, though. Takes just a few minutes if you've got your paperwork and insurance. (and checkbook)
