Default Open Track at Sebring April 24 & 25

Hey all you Deep South track guys. Speed Ventures out of California has a two day open track event planned for Sebring (the full 12 hour course) on April 24 and 25. They currently only have 18 people signed up. They need 40 more drivers by Monday April 5 or they will have to pull the plug and cut their losses. Should be able with this small group to get as much track time as you want. Check out the link below and make your reservation.

I'm signed up for the event and hope we can get enough others to keep it going. I ran with the Speed Ventures group last year and had a blast!

The full course at Sebring is 3.7 miles and 18 or 19 turns. You park your car in the new pit area between runs. With a track this size there's lots of room and passing was only allowed on a couple of straights with a wave-by by the slower car. Therefore, no racing into corners and the danger of an accident.

Speed Ventures rents transponders,so after each run you see a print out of lap times. Mine from last year are still on their website. I averaged about 75 mph and was between 130 and 135 mph on the backstrech!

Other events at Sebring bring far more cars, sometimes to the short course, this is a great chance to run the full course with smaller groups. Please consider signing up and making this event happen. I would be happy to host a get together at my home near the track (20 minutes).
