Good job. It is OK to have duplicate numbers, just not in the same group...

Johan -
I'd like # 66 for my Cobra. If that's not possible, I'll have to tighten my shoulder straps, flip the car upside down and go with # 99.

I would like to reserve #86 for my 951 S and #861 for Adam's 944.
Also Johan I MAY have done a deal on a 996 Supercup this afternoon and if it pans out I'll bring it as #186. Keep your fingers crossed for me on tihs deal.
the number 86 is significant to me because the bartenders used to always remember my nickname "you're 86'd " they'd say and I would know that I was accepted.
There are several shops to do tire changes close-by.
Bring on those Cobras boys

Johan,
Hi, I haven't posted here yet but I am really looking forward to this event. I've been talking with Ed and I am about putting together an order for the rest of the gear that I need.
I would like to reserve 31 as my number if it's available. If not, then 71 is my second choice.
Thanks,
Robert

Robert, have you been to a DE before ? Talk to Ed, he's been.
Chip, it is the first post of this thread.
Ed, do you have some sort of list or something ?

Yes, I have been to a number of the events at Gainesville (I assume that is what a DE is).
I have a SA2000 helmet, but what I don't yet have are the arm restraints. I'm also ordering a neck support.
Here is Ed's list. He is in Jamaca right now basking in the sun. He won't be back until next Monday.
Short list of requirements:
1) Cotton or fire resistant long sleeve clothing, neck brace, arm restraints and fire extinguisher are mandatory. Fire suit is recommended. SA-95 rated helmet or newer. Snell or DOT rating insufficient.
2) This next one falls under the “Duh” category. Check for loose bolts, nuts, etc and tighten them, be sure to inspect tires, brakes and all fluids. Grease all bearings and fittings, etc. Again I will mention this event is 24 hours of track time… BRUTAL!
3) Oil drain plug must be safety wired or at a minimum taped in place. Double check all fittings!
4) No radiator coolant other than water and or water with wetter. No antifreeze!
5) Car number, meatball or tape.
6) Upgraded brake fluid and pads are also recommended to enhance your enjoyment.
Thanks,
Robert

Cool, glad you can come Robert. You also need 2 (two) throttle return springs.

Just a clarification question on requirements:
Is the neck brace MANDATORY?
I am assuming the reference is to the horse collar type (that big bulky sum of a batch).
I got everything else covered.
Well not quite, need more tires!!!
"My cheerleader" about soiled her panties when I told her I needed another set or 3 of race tires. Word of advice to all my young married friends out there: ALWAYS, ASK FOR MORE THAN YOU WANT; That way you can negiotate down to what you originally wanted in the 1st place.
Let's keep this our little secret.

I would rather see you in a proper driving suit than a neck coller thing. Nobody wants to wear this stuff, but s**t happens....
