I grew up in Georgia and Alabama so I am used to sweating and drinking lots of H2O. It has been rain and then sunshine here in the greater Pensacola metro area so the humidity is about 310% and rising. If you step outside in the morning and stand there for 15 minutes you will need to change clothes.
Rick you don't mean a Winston err Nextel Cup car do you?

Johan
I almost forgot the tires are not stcck car radials. They are old school stock car bias ply. Pretty stiff and they do not break away quite as bad as the radial type do. They stick so well I gained over 6 seconds a lap at Gainesville and never even tested them hard. There is more grip than I am willing to challange

Ruble,
You have no idea how good I feel to have a partner in release of heat via loss of fluids!!

I have witnessed this phenomenon first hand – it is amazing to watch a body melt away

Randy, will be calling you tomorrow BTW. It's nuts around here and I needed a lapse from the insanity again. You are thinking like I am BTW.

Johan,
Please call me tomorrow...
Thursday, 6-24-04
(813) 887-2340
I have a question.
Attention Cobra guys…
Terry is planning a “mini” bar-b-que for Sunday night at the hotel.
Basically, Terry will cook whatever you bring.
He e-mailed me today and said he is bringing his gas grill.
Beer and trash talking are also welcome!
After we drop off the trailers we plan on heading to a local grocer and stocking up for the week.
Grab a brat, burgers, chicken, anything edible, and we will hang out and relax by the pool after a long day of driving.
Less than a week to go.
Cheers,
Ed
Ed

My pleasure!
Thanks to Johan for inviting us.
I've spent some "wrench" time the past few weeks ensuring my Cobra is running cool this year and not having oil pressure problems. (Hopefully).
I still remember how humiliating it was to allow Ruble to pass me.
Oh the nightmares that caused.
I am looking forward to an awesome (and safe) event.
See you all in a few days.
Ed

Just a note to clarify the above:
I am bringing my larger (regular) gas grill (not the mini) so we can use at the track also for lunch and whatever.
Carol and I will pick up some chickens for Sunday night; if everyone else can bring the other things (salads, dips, etc.) it will be a great help. We should have enough plastic plates and utensils already.
The plan is to cook out at the pool, and just relax!
"Thrash talk" - I don't know how to do that Ed.

I have been spending some "wrench" time as well so I can re-live my past glory of passing your smoking cobra as you held you head down in defeat.
Actually I have been trying to get my car ready for the 24 heurs du Willis torture test.
Look forward to 4 days of good food, good track time, lies, trash talk and great friends.
P.S. I got your message to bring the checkbook
Johan
I love you man!
Spydee

I'll have my checkbook too and will be happy to contribute to anything other than the "Spydee K-Y dipfest".

Will Spydee be able to attend the opening of his cousin's movie on Wednesday night? Will he be able to keep from sliding out of his seat due to excess lubracation?
I just don't want to see that little yellow doorstop driving under my Flintstone Mobile any more

The Cobra gang is staying at the Jameson Suites in Pooler.
Bourne Ave.
Corner of Hwy 80 and I-95.
We arrive Sunday afternoon, dropping off trailers at the track and then it's off to the Hotel pool.

Chip, what do you need the tires for? Spydee got new slicks for the event. I will put him in the Cobra group if that is what you want..., but are you saying that after the event, you want Spydees old tires that are here in Atlanta ?
Guys, my phone number for the event is 404 932 5337.
I'm suffering through a broken computer at the worst possible time. This is awful. I have 70 e-mails to return. Directions to Hilton Head will be available at the track when you unload. Just ask Kay for directions to the Monday night BBQ. You might want to spend Monday night at the Hilton Head Red Roof Inn. We are going to call it quits fairly early Monday night though so that I can get some sleep. Also , do not drink much if at all if you have to drive as the Cops (and consequences or even worse) are a real factor.
Do not speed in Blufton, Pooler, Hilton Head, Bloomingdale, etc.
They drive regular cars that they have confiscated and they even give tickets to the State Patrol if they catch them speeding.
See you there....

All,
I have secured a HotLap transmitter for the event that I will place on the other side of left straightaway wall on the outside of the track, so if you have a hotlap setup, point it out your left window.
I have borrowed this device, so please remind me to pack it up nightly and when we leave.
