Collier Auto Museum
On Friday July 22nd a group of 14 of us from the Deeper South Cobra Club visited the Collier Auto Museum in Naples Florida. The Museum is no longer open to the public and we had a private showing of the 106 cars located inside the museum. The quality of the cars in this museum was unreal and those that had something else to do on Friday really missed a great car collection. They had no actual Cobras on display but many, many race cars including two very nice Ford GT40’s. They wouldn’t allow us to take any pictures still or movie so I can’t make up for those that missed out on this trip, as I have no pictures to post. We were in the museum for three hours and divided into two separate groups and each group had his own guide who told us about each car even though there was a story board by each and every vehicle. The personal attention of being able to ask questions about each car and learn what the guide knew about each was great, plus there was no entry fees charged. We had another awesome day with the Cobra group even though the weather said stay home Cobras it’s raining, just ask Larry Hess. Guys we know that this is the rainy season down here in southern Florida at this time of the year but please join us with or with out your Cobra and come and meet this group, you won’t be disappointed with what we have been doing so far.
