Default FF5 MK3 Alum. Pnl. on Ft. Box install.

Hello !
My son and I are building a Factory Five Mark III. We are at the point where the manual instructs us to install the aluminum panels onto the driver's foot box. There seems to me to be a contradiction about what gets rivited and silaconed into place first. The front panel overlaps most of the other (bottom, inside, outside and top) panels and is supposed to be rivited and siliconed first, before the others. Problem: If this is done, the other driver's foot box panels will not be able to be overlaped by the front panel as it will already be rivited and silaconed in place. We hope to have a weather proof and neat finished foot box. Anybody conquored this delima? We need counsel from experienced builder. Thank you !

When you put silicone on the front panel make sure that it does not extend to the outer edges.

There is enough flexibility in the front panel to allow the side and top panels to be slid into place even after the front panel is installed as long you don't go overboard with the silicone.

You really should check out ffcobra.com for your Factory Five questions. Lots of great help over there and any question you could possibly have will be answered in a jiffy or can be found in a search.
