Well--stickies don't need ttts--but you're on the money for refreshing it!

Stuff--we need stuff! If not the KMP--then for the auction!
Stuff!

Jamo,

I purchased a few Daytona Coupe and GT 500 Mustang models and am expecting a Cobra model any day to contribute to the auction.
Where should they be sent or should they be delivered at auction time??
and am I asking the correct person?

The assolute correcto poison is da DV hisself.

Basically--you just need to get them to DV--e-mail him. Models are great for the auction! Way to go.

My fellow cobraphiles,
Now if that doesn't sound like a politician! All donations and support to help put on the Fling are greatly appreciated and of course needed!

Every year the Mrs. and I start out with a cold and lonely Jenny account. Yes, we do hold back some funds from the previous year, but every new Fling seems the start up costs just keep climbing and climbing.

For anyone that wants to donate to the cause, it truly is appreciated.

Any donations, including anything that you may want to donate to the Flings auction can be sent to me at:

Classics by Elite
3212 Old Columbus Rd.
London, Oh 43140

740.852.5280

The Gasholes, aka Pat Buckley and many, many others held an earlier fund raiser, raising almost $1000.00 already! I will be posting all the names that I have later.

Thanks people, it couldn't happen without you!

DV

The transmission is done and should be headed to Kirkham later this week. Toploader #994910 is built like I would build it for myself since I fully intend to win the car. It is a C5AR (65) casting wide ratio unit with new 2nd, new 3rd, new 4th/input, new cluster, new 1-2 synchro and new 3-4 synchro. If I don't win the car the winner should be pleased.

David,
I know you build them all as if it's your own! And we thank you for that! Just a little update on the powertrain, the 289 has ARRIVED! Sans some semi serious shipping damge Me thinks it can be repaired ok. but we'll see. Roadway trucking at first tried to give us a lot of grief, but I demanded to talk to their independant claims rep. He came, he saw, je asked questions. He then came into the shop, got the story on Jenny and the Fling and simply said, "FIX IT"! More to follow on this little 8 cylinder wonder.

I will try to do the KMP Cobra the KEE toploader and the Fling justice!

DV...oh my, oh my where is the time going!

Many thanks to David Kee,

ALL his transmissions are the greatest! We have NEVER had a problem with them. We sent you back a tranny case today.

U-2,
Call me 740.852.5280 It would have been to late by noon! But not yet. We did get a motor in from Turnpike Boy, but it came in damaged! (A motor of all things damaged in shipping!)

The existing motor, as is, is purely a stock type motor. A HI-PO would be even better!

DV...anybody know where we can get a EFI stack system for it?
You don't think the winner would, mind a little upgrade do you?.

Mr Mustang..

Received a big box yesterday! All kinds of nifty parts in it. Thank you Sir. Pictures (I hope) are forthcoming. A minor set back though on the heads. Seems Edelbrock has failed to return David's calls. Instead of trying to hound Edelbrock anymore we are continuing on. The "Jenny Kitty" can not afford to purchase these aluminum heads so we are back to the basics.

The question? Do we use 289 heads, or 302 heads. I had a set of 302-P heads but DV Jr. says they are AWOL. (Me thinks they are on Jr's motor in his '66 Stang! )

Southern! Your Oil pan came in while I was gone. It's going to look mighty fine on Jenny's motor! Thank you Sir!

I'm going to ask MARCH for pulleys, OR should be use stock pulleys? That is the question. Thoughts?

DV...82 degrees in the AM, 14 degrees at midnight. Now that really sucks!

Cool

DV,

Glad the box arrived so quickly (had to wait for the gaskets to dry)......As for heads, if you have the vintage 65-68 289 heads, use them.......If you have a set of 1968 "J" code heads, use those instead.............Give me casting numbers of what you have, and we'll go from there.......As for the pulleys, use what you can get your hands on.....stock if that is the route you plan to take, otherwise, the March set up is rather nice looking as well.........

Yours in Fords,

Bill S.

DV,
'66 289 Heads shipped UPS 6 Mar. They were ported and polished, pedistals machined & tapped for screw in studs. They need to be freshened up and you'll still need screw in studs & guide plates. I hope they will work.
