Spring Fling--are we gonna have fun or what?
No--this ain't no official agenda or anything of the sort. Just want to get the juices flowing and keep them going through these winter months, and remind us of all the STUFF that DV's already put together until the web site's up. I mean--this guy just plain rocks!
Got the Kirkham Raffle. OK--that's enough reason to go all by itself.
Going to have Jay Leno there one way or another. If the REAL one doesn't show up, we'll have a Turkish replica. Anybody who can sit at Shelby's desk and wear his hat can surely pass himself off as a Leno for a couple of hours. May be funnier anyway.
Got a full-fledged SCCA sponsored and conducted AUTOCROSS for Friday just down the road. If your Cobra's legal for the street--it'll be legal for the autocross. Never autocrossed before? No problem--that's what the SCCA is for. You'll get instruction from them and from those that have done it. If you wanna practice, get some close friends to wear orange sweaters or coats and have them stand around in a big parking lot. Remind them not to move an inch--closing their eyes might be a good idea. Then get in your Cobra...
DV's cruise into London--100s of Cobras all in a row--a loud, moving row!
DV's setting up visits at local points of interest for the ladies or others that simply would like to relax a bit.
There's a party every night.
There's a DV's hometown's Strawberry Festival in there somewhere. Give rides to the civilians and raise even more money for Jenny and the kids.
COOKIES!!!!!!! Ed--isn't this what started the whole darn thing?
Quaker State--assolutely!
DV's Auction--need a part--here it is! And da money goes where it does some good!
Then there's the UNOFFICIAL stuff...shhhhhhhh....
Blackjack's famous nose-snorting demonstration in one of the parking lots every night. Raki for everyone. And no driving home--just stumble to your rooms (try for a first floor room--trust me on this).
For you track junkies--looks like there's gonna be some open track time available about three hours away just over the state line in Pennsylvania. The Crankoids will be taking on everyone!
Burnouts? Naw, we wouldn't do that!
So--if you're cold, miserable and wet right now--just keep your eye on the ball. DV's throwing a party and we're all invited. Mid June/Mid Ohio!
Ed, it's a good thing YOU do!

You really think I'm going through all of this--flights to Provo, etc. and building this oversized tin boat anchor of a motor--and I ain't gonna do burnouts?
Screw PC--if I don't cord the rear tires that weekend, I'm not worthy!
And you?

I CAN'T. I would love to but I just can't!!
I have a REAL Cobra...It wouldn't look cool. I have an image to protect, I can't be seen participating in irresponsible acts with MY car... You go ahead and do whatever you want while me and the other REAL COBRA owners sip our wine...
Are there any Polo grounds nearby?

Go to bed.
I lost 500 plus posts when Brent redecorated the forum. I am trying to play catch up. I can't gain on you unless you go to bed and let me post until 4:00 am.
If you want to be a jerk about this, I can get Jim to post for me....he never sleeps.
Please go to bed. Your family needs you.

Good Night Jamo!

Jamo amd Turk,
Good morning guys.
Where can a guy get a room without all that Raki snorting going on all night? I never did get any sleep at the last Fling. I thought I would stay with friends in Cleveland and commute to the Fling each day. I'm going to find it real hard to get the wife to come along unless I find a Motel miles away from the Spring Fling.

"sleep depravation" LOL - I like that. Very fitting.
Is there an antidote to Raki? I surely hope so, else my recollection of this year's fling will be hazy at best.
And do you think they could get some warm beer in at the bistro? To make me feel more at home?

The GPB's
Turk,
Will they be serving "grey poupon" to you "REAL" cobra guys?
I think that you should now be regarded as one of the "Grey Poupon Boys"!

Ode to the "GPB"s
A WELL-RESPECTED MAN
The Kinks
'Cause he gets up in the morning,
And he goes to work at nine,
And he comes back home at five-thirty,
Gets the same train every time.
'Cause his world is built 'round punctuality,
It never fails.
And he's oh, so good,
And he's oh, so fine,
And he's oh, so healthy,
In his body and his mind.
He's a well respected man about town,
Doing the best things so conservatively.
And his mother goes to meetings,
While his father pulls the maid,
And she stirs the tea with councilors,
While discussing foreign trade,
And she passes looks, as well as bills
At every suave young man
'Cause he's oh, so good,
And he's oh, so fine,
And he's oh, so healthy,
In his body and his mind.
He's a well respected man about town,
Doing the best things so conservatively.
And he likes his own backyard,
And he likes his fags the best,
'Cause he's better than the rest,
And his own sweat smells the best,
And he hopes to grab his father's loot,
When Pater passes on.
'Cause he's oh, so good,
And he's oh, so fine,
And he's oh, so healthy,
In his body and his mind.
He's a well respected man about town,
Doing the best things so conservatively.
And he plays at stocks and shares,
And he goes to the Regatta,
And he adores the girl next door,
'Cause he's dying to get at her,
But his mother knows the best about
The matrimonial stakes.
'Cause he's oh, so good,
And he's oh, so fine,
And he's oh, so healthy,
In his body and his mind.
He's a well respected man about town,
Doing the best things so conservatively.

Bill,
You know those alloy boys especially those CSX guys! I think Ron stated it very well, not with the lyrics but by the singers,
The Kinks!
Those Grey Poupon Boys are alright but mustard is mustard and we know that poor Evan doesn't have all of his rivets aligned correctly. Now he's going to become the "REAL" prodigal child, to capitalize on Ron's theme, I think that "Little Black Egg" by The Nightcrawlers might be appropriate for Evan's BLACK CSX!

Why stop with getting Jay Leno out, why don't we see if we can get Pat " Mr Miyagi " Morita. I figure while the rest us are driving our cars, the Turk and the rest of the "Real Ones" can have have Mr. Miyagi give them lessons on waxing, you know " Wax on right hand, Wax off left hand, mmm small circles Danielson". Just an idea to make the best of DVSF III for everyone.
