NOTICE! 3-26 @ 9 AM, the DVSF III is ready for registrations!
The DVSF III web designers have finally succeeded! These guys have put in more hours on this than anyone could have imagined! Coordinating three banking institutions, building one heck of a web site, putting up with me...well they did great!
3-27, STARTING 9 am REGISTRATION IS OPEN! WWW.DVSF.COM
Phew...it is time to move on. I will be releasing much more information in a short time. All of it is good, and / or amazing, or simply unbelievable!
My thanks to ALL OF YOU for your patience, support and help.
Now a note -- you should not have to ask, but I want to make it perfectly clear. ANY information that we have asked for is encrypted and will not be used by anyone other than the DVSF crew.
Please take the time and fill out all the names of the people that you will be bringing. This is imperative for registration this year. In other words don't list, "The kids," Wife, etc., we actually need the names! The reason will become quite clear later on. Everybody will get a very nice little token to take home with them
If you had missed the 3 month discussion of the entry/registration fee this year, this is the way
it lays out.
I always refused to charge a fee for a picnic, but last year it became quite apparent we had to.
The bottom line is $100.00 per family or up to four people period. No more, no less.
This will include entry into all the events, the party and food AND entertainment for Friday night. It will also include transportation to and from the Hotels Friday night to the Lodge. If you plan on enjoying a wee bit of drink, (ya-right)! we don't want you to forget this is a BYOB arrangement and we will include the setups.
More on the web site. www.DVSF.com
Finally, and most important--if anyone, and I mean anyone has any trouble making the registration fee, please let me know via e-mail or phone. NO ONE WILL BE LEFT OUT!
DV-God bless all of you. Now, practice IS over!

The Raffle & Registration processes are available now on the (new) DVSF secure server. (Note that the registration and credit card transactions run under https to provide privacy and security.)
I would also like need to thank CFM-Resources.com for donating the secure hosting service to the Fling.

Yippee!
Registered and bought my first round of raffle tickets.
Couple of things. Not real 'back' button friendly.
I received two confirmations on the registration. If it charges me twice I will expect that to the corrected! Here are the confirmation numbers:
RD3770737753
RD3770737731
Glad to see the site up and working! Going to have a page with all the people registered on it?

Got registered OK, paid my fee, but the directory doesn't show me. And I don't See Rick (rdorman) there????? But he said he can see his name..... must be doing something wrong here...
And only one order number came back, so looks like I'm not being double billed.

Oops
Actually I can not see my name in the directory. You would think that the directory is built from the registration data base live but it does not appear to be that way.
Look at the Bright side, it will be a cake walk for DVSFIV.

Okay..I registered...
Okay...I registered...filled in all the info.....gave my credit card numbers....got the receipt emails....all looks good so far, right?
....didn't appear in the Directory.... Is there a lag time for this to happen? I would assume so, but not positive. Is there a problem?
Also, Tom, you need to include a 'RETURN' button to the final page received in the registration/payment process. Once the user gets the approval, says he's registered and all that, there's no place left to go....returning to the home page requires multiple 'BACK' buttons, or rekeying the URL. It'd be nice to have a button to take you back to the Home page, or to the secure pages to view the Directory, or something along those lines.
Overall...good job....very professional and easy to use web site!
Now....NO RAIN....!

Working on "Day 1" issues.
The fix DIRECTORY display is to go to the directory page and hit the "{Edit} My Profile" button. Toggle the "Display in Directory" to "Yes.
I agree that we should be more "Back Button Friendly." Part of "the problem" is that we are using a major CC clearing house for all of the credit card transactions. Essentially, we hand you off to them for all of the credit card processing. The upside is that your CC information is NOT stored on our server and their security set-up is definitely "industrial strength." Another part of "the problem" is that we are using the HTTPS protocol to protect privacy, passwords, etc. We're trying to balance security and privacy with ease of use.
That being said, I'll try to do what I can to make it as "friendly as possible."
casaleenie - It looks like your registration DID go through. If not, please advise.
Thanks for being understanding crash test dummies (No perjorative intended.)

Mike,
You and Ginny are on my hit list for e-mails. NO- you do not have to pay again! In fact Sir, we dropped the price for registration so I owe you guys a refund of $50.00.
If you can send me all the information required via another e-mail, then I will make sure that you are on the list!
DV.. These two people are one of our greatest supporters! Can't wait to see the new quilts!

Thanks, Tom.....
I went to Edit Profile...clicked the 'Include in Directory' radio button to NO, and submitted it. Then, went back to Edit again, clicked it to YES and re-submitted it. Went back to the Directory page and refreshed the screen....lo and behold!
Thanks again for your efforts, Tom...I've been in the Information Technology industry for 34 years...often times folks like us aren't appreciated because we're so far removed from day-to-day, face-to-face customer contact. But, nonetheless, we're the ones that make it all come together, aren't we...? They never remember us when it all works fine...but, they never forget us when it goes to hell in a bucket....!
Can I get an "Amen" from the congregation...?

Thanks!
Hold that thought...
We're still in the early stages and there are a number of new features that are in the works.
I hope that you'll all be this supportive and appreciative when DV pull's my number in the Kirkham raffle!
