Thumbs up The biggest...the best...and the most amazing hews about the DVSF III is here!

After a year of hard work from everyone, it's starting to really pay off!

It is no secret that YOU have made this the greatest Cobra event ever and most likely one of the neatest car round ups in the country. We are getting recognized for what WE have done around the world, and do you know who benefits? We do! For one example, I am in negotiations right now with a private Insurance group that WANTS to insure just Cobras and Kit cars. Seems our little discussions about building safe cars and having a national organization to come up with some basic safety features has not fallen on deaf ears. Klayfish, Jay (my partner if you hadn't heard) are going to work hard so this becomes a reality!

Jenny and the thousands like her are benefiting from your hard work and generosity. Most of you know WE have raised over $70,000 dollars for Cystic Fibrosis in the last two years. This year certainly indicates that we will raise that much alone! Guys think about that for a second....I hope you think that this little feat is as amazing as I do!

I want to get into some boring details for a second. The above figures do NOT include your registration fees! The way we came up with the $100.00 fee is this: Starting at the beginning, or Friday morning at OSU for the autocross-Fees for SCCA, then Friday night, Lodge rental, Caterer's for the BBQ's, set up fees (this is a BYOB event but we will provide the little knickknacks), three days of the RIPCORDS, and their needed equipment. Full security at the hotels by on duty Columbus Police Officers every night!

Then the Mrs. just contracted with a large bus company, hiring two large buses to transport everyone to and from the Lodge for Friday night! Party Hardy - "mates" as no one will have to drive home!

For those driving "rigs," parking for those as well, and they will also have Police Security at night.

Saturday, Police escorts, safety equipment, banners, tents, etc., for the London extravaganza!

Sunday...the biggest day of the event this year. We have contracted for buses, to transport the thousands (of the public) that we expect to come. Police, EMS teams and equipment, bleachers, porta-potty's, food vendors, parking attendants for the public. A large private area belonging to OSU for off site parking, again for the public, and more transportation to bring the public to the airport. Airport fees. And fees for many, many off duty Columbus Police Officers for our huge and final parade into and out of Columbus!

Misc. will be the packets for everyone, really neat name tags that are going to be worth saving as a souvenir of the DVSF III, (no more silly arm bands), photo copying, stamps, videos (used to persuade new sponsors to join us), and hundreds of smaller needs that I can't think of right now.

Oh yes...one more. Advertising the DVSF III on radio, magazines and newspapers! (More on this in a second) Jay did a cost analysis on all the above. Out of your $100.00 registration fee, if we do not encounter any more expense, there will be roughly $1.98 left over!

Now the good stuff!

YES, for 30 days prior to the event, we will be advertising on the radio all day long! Thanks to Quaker Steak & Lube, and ?????-see below they have made it possible to inundate the central Ohio region with advertising this year. Not only that, the "Oldies" station will be doing "remote live broadcasts" from at least two different locations of the Fling. The first is set up downtown London, Saturday morning and then again at the airport Sunday. Our goal is to bring in thousands of the public to pay for a ride in your car! You will be able to take them on the make shift dragstrip, and turn it loose, or run them through the worlds baddest "outlaw" autocross you and they will ever experience! How fast you want to go will be up to you...and them. You can make em' smile, scream in terror, or pee their pants. It will be up to you! Just bring em' back alive so they can do it again!

In closing let me tell you some more really, really great news. We have signed on quite a few great and new sponsors for the Fling. One is "AMERICAN lift." Yup, you got it! We will be giving away, with Jenny's car a 4-post-roll around lift on Sunday. I bought one for our shop and loved it. So I called the company back and hammered them until they relented! It will also include free shipping anywhere in the continental US. You can see it here:
http://www.americanautomotiveequipme..._aaess7000.JPG

Then a new, at least to the US, Cobra company out of South Africa, "Shamrock Cobras" will be joining us. I think you guys are really going to like this one. They are much like SPF as the cars come into the country complete turnkey's -- minus! They will have their cars at the Fling so we can all hover over them!

Another new but not quite firmed up sponsor yet, is.... Bobby Rahal Racing! The plans are that Mr. Rahal will be with us part of the weekend with his original FIA enjoying the festivities and loaning us his name to bring in even more of the public!

And now, .... And now, the most exciting and largest sponsor to date is .....

MAC TOOLS!

Yes, MAC tools approached us for a full sponsorship that I could only dream off. Seems they were looking for a national family event such as ours to sponsor. ( I am so sorry to say I forgot the Cobra members name that sicked MAC on us-please come forward!)

A lot of details to work out but they are on board, with full heart and soul of their company. They will be offering a very special tool box(s) at huge discounts to our Cobra group with a majority of the moneys going to Jenny. They want to have FOUR...yes Sir, FOUR DVSF's a YEAR all over the country! CRANKY...this is for you! They are willing to rent four tracks around the country next year for our Cobra family to race at. A combination of road courses such as Willow Springs, Mid-Ohio, etc., and a few dragstrips. Which ever is most popular with you! More, more, more to come on this!

MAC will have their MONSTER Truck at the Fling all dressed out with Jenny's posters and they will be leading our Finale' right through Columbus. Talk about clearing the way !!!!!
They will also try and have their NASCAR vehicle here as well as their Dragster. (Just that much more enticement to bring in the public!)

And don't forget about Jenny! Jenny will be with us two full days this year and WILL be drawing the winning tickets Sunday afternoon for all the great prizes. I know a lot of you want to get an early start home on Sunday, but try and stick around for the final parade, being led by MAC's Monster Truck and Jenny's car right behind. (The news media wants to tape this little parade through Columbus, so lets show them what a parade should be !

DV...All of YOU make all of US proud! Lets do it!

DV,
That's phenomenal!! This thing is going to be bigger and better than anyone can imagine! Glad to read the rest of the info about sponsors and events. The chat room crashed yesterday right in the middle, and I couldn't get back in. I'll be in touch very soon.
