CobraX Friday June 20
Dwain, TC Cobra, just made me think of something. Who is going to be in town on Thursday and who is coming in on Friday. In other words, who is going to be able to make the CobraX Friday morning?
Thanks
Rick

My plan is to arrive Thursday. I have never tried an autocross so I hope to give it a go on Friday.

My plans...
...call for me to be in Thursday PM around dinner time.
I'm planning on the Cobra X on Friday AM. Didn't I understand though this was really an event meant to carry passengers and not an all out Fastest Time of the Day Autocross? Because if it's a real AutoX, I need to plan on trailering #770 to the site...don't want to drive on the streets with my Hoosiers...they pick up too many rocks, pebbles, small animals and children and throw them all up under the wheel wells...
Someone let us know, please...
THANKS...and looking forward to seeing everyone again!

Yes and no.
It is an SCCA Solo II event. It is not a points event. There will be timing but not scoring (no times posted etc). The timing van has two large read-outs so that you can see your time after you run. We do not want the Fling to turn into Run&Gun II so this is just a fun event, hence no scoring. But you still can have bragging rights!
I drive on my Hoosiers everyday. Not exactly my paint jobs best friend.
As for passengers, it is up to you if you will let some one ride. If they are making a donation, hopefully you will. But this is a fun event for US. It just also happens to help out a good cause. I know when I Autocross I never have an empty passenger seat. I usually have a line of people looking to ride. I just tell myself that it balances the car better! Weight to Horsepower ratio certainly isn't a big deal for me at an autocross!
I wish more people would let me know if they are coming. I KNOW it is not just the three of us!
JUST 44 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!

Great...I'm trailerin' to the AutoX site, then...
No prob....I'll just mount up my Hoosiers before I leave Memphis on Thursday, and I'll be ready for the AutoX on Friday. I can always remount my street tires for Saturday and Sunday's events either at the AutoX site, or at the Cross Country before the parking lot shiznet starts...you know what I'm talking about...!
Guess it'll be at the AutoX site...I'm afriad I won't have the time Friday PM before the Choctaw Lodge ho-down. Besides, I'l probably need to shower and so on after all that physical activity in the lovely mid-Ohio heat...! Remember last year? Whooooo-eeeee...I went North because it was gettin' hot down in Memphis....little did I know! Bringin' cool weather with me this year...yeah I am!

Sounds good
It sounds as though you have a trailer with a tire machine!?!? Seems to me there is a tire dealer very close to the hotels. Don;t recall for sure.
There is three hours scheduled between the end of the autocross and the begining of that nights party. That should be plenty of time to shower, nap, what ever! Or you could just bring a bar of soap and jump in the lake! I know I am not bringing the Cobra Friday night. I plan on REALLY enjoying myself and will have two or three other drivers with me (one is a cop and another doesn't drink much!).
PLEASE do bring the cool weather with you but leave the rain at home! That was un-usually hot last year. I think it was two summers ago it only got above 90 once all summer. I hope this summer is like that one. It is hard to drink all that beer in 90+ heat!
Can't wait!

Naaah...no tire machine in the trailer...
...but there's one in the back of the Navigator...!
And a tire rack in the trailer with street tires mounted on 15" Trigos, or Hoosiers mounted on another set of 15" Trigos...! Jack it up, remove the Hoosiers, reinstall the street wheels and we're ready to paaar-teeeeeh....
Yepper...I'm not drivin' Friday night either! I need to get back to the Cross Country parking lot before the real party starts....

I plan on getting in Thu and the Cobra X has been part of my plans from the get go.
I am obviously really looking forward to this.
BTW, is there a good tire shop nearby?
