Fling weather
Hey Ed,
Do we dare start a "Fling Weather Report"?
Don't need no flying trees or cows!

Mike,
If you look at DVSF.Com we have a Weather Channel sidebar. My guess is that DVSF will definitely be "Hot!"

Oh man!!! Last year we cooked out there!! Could you please arrange for clear, sunny, and a high of .... say 70 degrees?
But the fling will definitely be HOT!

Yeah, I remember last year wanting to get back to AZ to cool off!
While the London weather is important, I'm also concerned just a little bit about the nasty looking hail that's been pounding our route through tornado alley. Oh well, it's only hard water, right?

Last year was indeed HOT, but I'll take that over rain anytime. I mean, it stayed dry even with Wade Chamberlain in attendance!
I like to think that it is because of all the good DV does for sick kids with this event that he has been blessed from above with sunny skies for Fling I & II. We'll all hope that continues this year!
See you all there,
Jeff

NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
Don't any one say the 'R' word! It threatened, maybe even did a little the first year. Last year you could cook on your engine...... without starting it. This year is going to be perfect weather. It have rained for what seems like the last six weeks here. Just so it can get it out of its system and give us a few great days.
Who knows. The weather man did hint a dryer pattern emerging next week. I certainly hope so!

RAIN ! You guys are worried about a little rain? Not me.
Me and MikieF know about real rain don't we Mikie? I think I had rain 5" deep in the floor of the Cobra. Mikie had more cause he drove further. A trip we both will never forget with the best of memories. Especially blasting through Monument Valley on those desolete roads.
Hey wade, I think I may have a passenger if it rains on the way to the Fling, I think her name is Beth...
I'm really looking forward to caravaning with the Va & DC bunch..
For those who don't know my car is still stored out there from when it was at Carlisle. I'm flying out there and caravaning to the fling with a wild and crazy bunch, should be a riot!. I think BLACKJACK has something to do with the wild and crazy part.
I hear BLACKJACK has raided every liqour store in the area for their Raki to bring to the Fling.

Be affraid, be very affraid!
Running those 'slicks' like I am now I run for cover everytime I see a drop of rain!
My father is coming in from DC as well. I want to hook him up with the guys from DC and VA. We will definiatly have to hunt you all down at the Fling. I don't think my father would miss it for the world. He rides in Rolling Thunder every year in DC and has been a bit of a motorhead since day one.
Rick
Hersh, I don't know if you remember or not but I am the guy that bought Randy Resaters(sp) old car. Man the work that I have put into it!!

Wade,
That's good. But if you wanna trade cars for a little while that's fine too. You and Beth can drive the GT, that is...If you trust me with your Beauty. Fair warning though, you may get hooked.

Drown or freeze
Hey Hersh, without a doubt that was the wettest and scaredest I've ever been! With my nose right up against the windshield, a towel in constant use, using the faint rear lights of the cars ahead, the only way I stayed on the road was the white stripe along the right shoulder, and at times I lost that! Being at 7000ft in the Rockies the lightning and thunder is not very much farther above your head. When I finally did find a pull off, there still was no cover. I sat there for 15 min watching the car fill up and wondering where you were, realizing that at 4PM in a cold rain at that altitude I would either drown or freeze to death. So off I went. A hundred miles later I was out of it and almost dry. Didn't need that, but just to let you guys know what can happen on a long trip in these cars. Just remember...it all comes out in the wash! Definitely remember to bring a poncho! (Oh Seesco!)

MOST of what I have done can not be seen! I have been focusing on drivability, safety/comfort. I have a LONG list of items. It was a good car when I bought it. I think I am making it better! But even Randy would be hard pressed to walk up to it and see anything different.
Plenty of time to talk next week!
