DVSF IV - Mini Parade(s)?!
Hey all...
Well, after barely missing DVSF III due to some mechanical problems on the new baby, all is worked out and let the countdown to DVSF IV begin!!
I'm in Lexington, OH - right by Mid Ohio - and was wondering if anyone from there and North would like to drive down together sometime on Friday?
I figure even if we get 3-4 people, that will be a nice sight for those lucky enough to be on 71 S at the same time...
By the way - no matter what your dyno guy tells you, retorque your heads after your first dyno run. Our 2 months of overheating hell was cured after finding some " oil foam" in the valve covers, pulling them off, and retorquing. Some of the head bolts were barely 30 lb-ft. She's nice and cool now.
Can't wait to see everyone at the fling!

OK - Or Thursday, either way. I get an extra day of vacation starting at my 1-year anniversary, which is June 23rd. Gosh, could that be a sign?
So is anyone in for Thursday?? I'll buy lunch!

Cool - that's closer to 1200 HP than 1100 between the 2 of us (sorry I can't get us to 1200). I'm setting a parade goal of 2000HP minimum...
I'm Titanium & Black as well...
Hey Cleveland, Akron, Toledo, etc... guys we need some color diversity, here!!! Let's go! Lunch on me @ Buck's in Lexington...

Guys...wow, what can I say?
I did suggest if you could come in Thursday night it might be a good thing as we will be kicking off DVSF IV bright and early FRIDAY! Nothing is planned for Thursday.
DV...isn't three days enough?

Mike - what's the link to the Ohio Cobra Club? I'm not a member and need to take care of that.
So, if nothing's actually going on Thursday, Brian and Mike - what do you guys think?
McDonald's @ 97 & 71 is a nice easy place to meet for sure. I guess we still have a few months to plan - Wow, I'm trying to make plans like it's this weekend.
I wish...
DV - there are never enough days for this stuff!!!

Ed
we are ready to come down tonight if you have an extra room.--- However-- it is a bit cool So I guess we will wait until June--
Why don't you try and come up for our get together--
We want to help this year---- assignments ?????
The Ohio Club needs to be involved -- we need a common project -- I think it could help the club and build unity ---
What do you think---

"... is three days enough?"
Not for me! It could be a week long and I would be there every day.
DO come on Thursday. Who knows, we could be back in your neck of the woods on Friday
I to am staying at the Fairfield so Ohio folks, lets try to get at least in the same hotel.
I will be there Thursday. Set up a lawn chair, watch the folks roll in, help when I can. I took Monday off as well for recovery purposes.
Mike, et all Ohio Cobra members. I have been tasked with a project for DVSFIV that I am running into to minor difficulties. I WILL need help. OCC is definiatly my group. Please email me about this. I can't let the cat out of the bag early.

Agreed...if there's something the Ohio guys can specifically work on to help the cause, let's do it! Rather than a bunch of people just aimlessly volunteering (ain't nothin' wrong w/ that), maybe we can all work toward a common goal.
I have a keg tap I can contribute!

JP,
Have you ever taken 42 all the way down to Columbus?
Might be an interesting ride
DV...lived in Lexington, Oh. for many, many years! I was there when they broke ground for Mid-Ohio.

We did the Rt.42 thing to the DVSF II... I now walk in right hand circles because my left leg is now permanently bigger than the right because of all the shifting
Not a bad right, but whew... would rather caravan down I-71.

DV - Was considering going 42 when we were having the serious overheat problems - figured more driveways to stop in to top off water or pick up the surge tank off the ground and re-attach it. Never made it. BTW - we exchanged emails a while back right after dad and I missed DVSF III, and I invited you and family up for lunch or dinner sometime. I see from getting back into the forum for the first time in a couple months that you're quite busy!!
Now...my dad used to make the drive (42S) every day for 20 years from Lexington to Delaware, it's not THAT bad. :-)
I agree though - I think the caravan down 71 would be a little cooler. If 42 covered some better terrain, I'd be all over it.

Hey I'm posting to get this thread back on the "active thread" list but also - I am working on something "really really cool" for Thursday and once I get a better idea of whether or not I can make it happen, I will fill you all in.
But if it works out, I promise it will be worth a quick pit stop in Lexington.
More to come....

Just let us know-- hopefully, we will have a large parade
running down 71.
In the past years we have had 6 to 7 cars-- I would like that to increase ---
At this point we have plenty of time to set this up ---
Mike
All we will need is the time---
