The Ohio Cobra Club will provide waste baskets for the backings of the name tags.

I hate to be 2nd, but it is what it is.

Name tags and disposal systems, consider them handled.

WHO'S NEXT??!!

I'll personally provide safety pins for the tags so the poor Atlanta Club won't have to buy the expensive sticky tags...they can use plain paper and some scissors.

Oh heck...I'll even supply the bandaids they'll need.

One helluva thread in my opinion. A lot to respond to and I intend to respond to every comment. But, not right now, I am working from daylight to dark literally, trying to get some heat into my building. Right now I've got to head up to the roof before it gets dark and or rains!

JP... you and I need to talk, period. We can do it here, or you can simply call me at 231-425-6823. Forgive me for shooting straight, but wasn't Fling IV your first Fling with a Cobra? I think you and your Dad attended the event on Saturday for the III. Forgive me if I'm wrong. All I'm saying is you have missed a lot of growing pains fella.

People, "I" have never said this was a charity event. This is what "you" decided and we went with it. I have always said it is about "us" first and anything after that was in fact secondary. I do not deny what so ever, that once "we" picked CF and then "Team Jenny" that I haven't tried to raise as much as possible. That's just the way I am. I'm sorry if anyone is offended, but if I decide to do something, I throw myself at it with everything I have.

JP, it IS "MY" party...for "YOU". You need to go back to the very beginning of the Fling. Read and learn how it all came about and how it got to where it is. (I'm sorry, but thanks to whomever it was that posted the "Story of the Fling".) Every, and I mean EVERY decision about the Fling has come about from "you". Period. Three years ago, “YOU” asked for nametags, not me! People wanted to know whom they were talking to. They wanted their cars on the tags, their names and mostly their screen names. Since "we" wanted nametags, we were able to drop those silly armbands to go through the buffet, and eventually open other doors that the public is not invited to. Hell I thought they were a hell of a memento. Beats the heck out of little aluminum car show tags.

Now the nametags are ridiculed? That's the easiest thing to fix!

DV...to be continued. I'm headed for the roof.

DV, it's not ridicule.......miles and miles from it. If you read carefully every comment, I think you'll see it's more aligned with keeping it simple and uncomplicated for YOU or anyone who wants to hold the party.

If you go all the way back to your first posts, and the many posts you wrote before IV, they were much about how complicated everything was, and how much work it takes, how much time.

This is ALL ABOUT, tossing that out the window, and keeping it simple.

DV

Well, when you come down off that roof, pull up a chair, grab a brew and chat awhile.

I don't think for one damn moment the number of Flings one has been to should be any kind of gauge. Seems to me that folks who rallied at the last minute getting Fling IV off the freeking ground once that sniper scare went away worked their butts off harder in a shorter amount of time than in past years...and that's my perception of just watching from the sidelines since there was no way my work schedule allows for last minute changes like that.

Are we all so old that we can't listen to new ideas from the young or new anymore? I sure as he!! hope not, because if we are, this hobby and this event will die from stagnation.

Yup...remember the growing pains and be proud of them, but let's not wallow in them.

BTW, check your sensitivity about the name tags...whole different joke going on there.

Ed-

My vote is for you and JP to talk right here....this involves "us".

I echo Jamo's sentiments regarding the number of Flings one has to attend before commenting - so far JP seems to be making good sense.

Anyway, we'll be here waiting.

Pat

BTW - I don't recall anyone asking for the band - wasn't that your big surprise?

Good point Pat! Ed, since this is about the "family" why don't we have all the discussions in public on this board.

Assolutely. This ain't the Ed and JP show...too many have weighed and many more are affected.

Fear not, this discussion is NOT going offline.

I just have other things to do for a few hours.
