Default DV Spring Fling Web Site

The new DVSF web site is up and running. There are a couple of pages that are incomplete right now, but the site will be changing all the time. http://www.dvspringfling.com

You might want to double check the figures on contributions on the site, I thought IV did not raise as much as III given prior discussion.

"DVSF III: 287 Cobras, thousands of people in attendance, and a truly miraculous $105,527.00 raised for Cystic Fibrosis!

With your help, the DVSF IV of 2004 was an even larger event, raising more money for Team Jenny and Cystic Fibrosis"

Why highlight this when it has been agreed that fund raising would not be a focal for the next one?

Sorry TURK, forgot. It was right there on the 1st home page. I wanted to make sure my above post was accurate so I found that one post on the "DV, by DV" thread.

"According to Shayna Daubert, the Administrative Assitant for the Central Ohio Chapter of Cystic Fibrosis, they have benifited from the Fling in;
2000 --- unknown amount
2001 --- $24,000.00
2002 --- $29,000.00
2003 --- $66,480.00
2004 --- $ 8,000.00 "

I think it meant "more" in an absolute sense - not so much "more than last year" in a relative sense.

In other words, on Friday, I drank a quart of milk. On Saturday, I drank a half-gallon. Today, I drank even more milk! I had a cup!

I get it now. Your analogy would be better with leftovers however.

The web site administrator is out of town until March 4. Those that have sent their money in, will be posted at the time. The agenda will also be updated, even though it's still a work in progress. Friday poker run, Friday most likely QSL, Saturday, working on putting an island in your life. Sunday autox, at the local speedway, put on by SCCA.

Thanks Jack,

The agenda sounds really fun so far. Will the Quaker Stake be the one in Sheffield by chance? Talk about " hoppin" that place is packed to the gills every single weekend in the summer!

Toy,

I want to clarify any misunderstandings about the monies sent to Cystic Fibrosis. Back when things were hot and heavy about the funds that were raised for CF and the lack of financial accountability, I called Shayna (CF) and ask her the question -- how much money was given to Cystic Fibrosis in the name of the Spring Fling? I then posted the amounts. The amounts you posted are the ones that she quoted me and are correct unless she gave me invalid amounts.

Mike

Thumbs up

Mike,
Well, that seems like about $127,480.00 more money for CF than before the DVSF’s.

You must be a math major.

I'm not sure what the basis is for your venom in your own DVSF V threads, Dan. I made an offer regarding a Slyman's sandwich elsewhere, and received a very unfriendly response from you. I was actually being serious - why just a few weeks ago, I took up half of my luggage space when travelling to Las Vegas with frozen White Castles so a friend could enjoy them - something he hasn't been able to do in 25 years.

My offer to you - met with a BS, mean spirited remark.

Mike, who has been in contact with CF regarding past donations from the DVSF events, clarified that the numbers posted in this thread were indeed accurate - I am pretty sure he wasn't scoffing at the $127,480 donated over the past 4 years - I know I sure wouldn't be. I happen to know Mike very well - hell of a nice guy - and he, himself, runs a not-for-profit called Boys' Village. Not the type of guy you would see slighting the incredible accomplishments of the past 4 years.

His clarification - met with a BS, caddy remark.

It seemed like a month or so ago, people put down the swords and stopped fighting. 2 events, 2 groups, 2 great times...same weekend. Big deal.

Seems like everyone's kind of let it all chill out - except for you. Your signature line speaks volumes about your attitude on this. Jack, the man in charge, doesn't have a statement about "The One, The Only, The Original" or whatever...

Please don't mistake this post as venom in return. Please accept it as a reasonable question as to your motives, and what attitude you may have that is driving your actions and words, which have seemed less than kind, to anyone who has basically let it be known that they are supporting the London event - which they are entitled to do just as much as you are the Elyria event.

Seriously...you did it to me, now you're doing it to Mike. I may be a jerk, but Mike's a nice guy.

I honestly don't get it...I hope like hell that the Elyria event is a smashing success - a lot of my friends will be there, and I hope they have a great time. However, it seems like you hope the London event falls on its face. Not really the true spirit of this "Cobra Family" if you ask me.

Lay down the sword like everyone else has...sheesh...

All amounts have been taken off the main web site page. Use this thread if you have something to benefit the headed topic. Any negativity, start your own thread and post it there.

Am I missing something or is Dan saying that the 127k is a good thing?
