I've been running DOT 4 ever since I got the car and it hasn't done anything to the paint on the three cans yet. Maybe I'm just not as sloppy as some!

I have three Home Depot PVC glue cans that I pad $10 each to have powdercoated and they are not leaking or peeling after 1500 miles and 8 months. I used the Girling lids from Pegasus.

Damn. I know exactly what cans you're talking about and, when painted black with a Girling decal pasted over them, they would tend to fool 98% of the members on this forum.

Three PVC cans $15, three lids $30, three cans p-coated $30. Total $75. I made the brackets myself from aluminum looking at CSX pics for reference. Close enough for me and chicks dig 'em.

Fooling you isn't very easy, so I'll take that.
I am not sure what ERA charges, but I have no idea about longevity on mine so while I might have saved some $$ in the near term, it may still be worth it to buy the originals. I figured "what the heck..."

But, my gosh, it would take me FOREVER to use up that much PVC glue!

Actually I need to correct that, it wasn't the glue cans, it was the PVC solvent cans, and the neighbor's dog loved it. I poured it all in a plastic bowl and left the cans sitting out under the cobana to dry out, and I failed to pick up the bowl. I came back and he had gulped about half of it down. He's still *&^%$ in my yard so I guess he's okay.

I had them done in March '09 and they are just like they were the day I mounted them.

They are so thin that I think if you were to hit those glue cans with a torch they'd go "poof." I was quite shocked they endured the powdercoating, but my coater knew what we were dealing with.

There must be tougher versions - I know I've had cans of stuff like that that were much thicker build. Maybe they were older, who knows?
So how DID you attach the nipples? Solder?

After powdercoating I drillled a 5/16" hole in the bottom, used a 90* bulkhead fitting from Aeromotive, along with crush washers and an AN nut inside. I then used AN fittings and black braided hose over to the Wilwood master cylinders.

I've been using DOT 4 too. And mine are all crinkled up. I've never spilled a drop either. I wonder if it has anything to do with driving habits and sloshing?
