FIA Tires
What brand of tires is the majority of FIA buyers using? Firestone Fire Hawk Indy 500, Mickey Thompson S/T, or Mickey Thompson S/R? I have a set of Dunlop GT's now, but are no longer available in the 295/50/15.

Can't speak for the majority, but I'm going with Avons. Phil (aka fastd) has Avons on his ERA 289FIA and highly recommended them to me.

FIA Tires
I also use Avons on 2039, but I used the 225/275 combination. Work great on the track.

Let me jump in and ask of the tires mentioned, what works well on the street and would work at least OK in the wet, if one was to get caught out in the rain?
Are all the tires above DOT approved?
Thanks!

I have the SR's on my FIA and love them. Hook up and hold nicely.

tk-
The Avon's are DOT approved and, since they are radials, are great on the street (I drove fastd's around and about New Britain). Don't know about wet, but that isn't gonna happen with my car!

Firestone Fire Hawk Indy 500's
I'm happy with them, but I can't say that I drive them on the edge. I've had them on wet/cold pavement with no issues.

I have Hoosiers that I run most of the time on mine. Not DOT, but grab a plenty.

I had Dunlop GTs on ERA2041 and liked them. When I learned that they weren't in production anymore, I installed Firestone Indy 500s, and they are OK. They felt a little squirmy at first, but after a couple hundred miles they feel like the Dunlops did. I don't drive the car at the edge, as it has much more capability than I do now.............

I think I am leaning towards a set of Mickey Thompson S/R tires. H rated.
26/10.00/15 front and 26/12.00/15 rear.

I've been caught in the rain several times on Avons. They do fine.

Not planning on driving in the rain ... but you never know ... good to know that these tires are at least OK in the wet.

I'm using Goodyear Billboards..
They're not DOT approved. They pick up a lot of pebbles but they're very sticky once warm..
