Default Double Fuel Filter?

With an inline fuel filter between the tank and the mechanical fuel pump, is another cannister filter necessary between the pump and the carb?

Thanks in advance to all, Doug in Louisiana

Unless you like the look of the original steel canister on the front of the engine, two filters aren't necessary.

I would agree that only one filter is necessary in a fuel system. The standard retail gas pump dispenser is 10 micron. At times it is not enough to catch everything. I'm sure your Cobra filter has a smaller mesh size than 10. One good filter should be plenty. If it never needs replacing it is only insurance against a slug of particles in the gasoline.

Doug:

I have one very similar to this one on the race car, mounted a foot or 2 from the fuel cell........you could easily mount one like this under the car on a frame rail......
One like this is all you'll ever need.....
