Default On The Road -- ERA FIA 2108

After spending my evenings over the last two weeks doing the final assembly on ERA FIA 2108, I couldn't wait any longer: I took one of my many available vacation days, took a day off from work and spent the day working on my Cobra. An intense nine-hour blitz later, I was on the road for an early evening drive.

My, my, how I've missed my Cobra while it was getting painted and I was finishing the assembly.

I have a few odds and ends to take care of. The ferrules for the side curtains, the hood prop, side view mirror, and grab handle. That's about it.

I think I'll go out for a drive.

Excellent work Doug!! You're ready for the prime driving weather. You're going to have to bring your car to a breakfast to show it off.

Congradulations! It takes a while for your face to relax from grinning so much!
What is your next project?

I'll take some pictures tonight and tomorrow. After 4 hours on Tuesday night and nine hours on Wednesday, I was pretty fried from the intense push. It hasn't really set in yet.

Next project? Probably a Jeep or Bronco 4x4 for my son. He's seven now, so if I get started now he'll have it by the time he's sixteen...

Doug

There is no better way to clear a work fogged head than working on a Cobra.

Pictures of your project are are a must. Inquiring minds want to know.

I agree with mark, but in dd's defense his little fingers are probably numb from the work , so pics may have to wait. Doug I am glad you made it"""!!!!

Pictures!

After the finger-numbering blitz, I took it out for a ride and my wife caught this shot when I returned:

I drove down to Natural Bridges to take this shot. By the time I got down there, though, it was getting a little too dark to due the car justice. I had a nice drive, though.

Having driven this for a year before I got it painted allowed me to completely sort it out, so it's mighty fine to drive. Lots of smiles and stares from the few people out on this cool, coastal evening.
