Fan Thermostat Switch
Bob,
At what temperature should the switch close and start the fans?

It turns the fans on at roughly 195F on the gauge. The actual water that passes the switch is in the return line of the radiator, so it will be cooler than at the head, so the switch is rated at only 78C (175F).

I gusess I will be calling and ordering a switch. My fans are turning on when the gague shows 82C.

You might want to use one of those little infrared temp guns to confirm that it's not your gauge reading wrong and the switch is working fine.

Do you know what temperature thermostat you have installed?

Bob,
Water stays between 78C and 82C at speed depending on ambient temps. Oil temp runs about the same. Running 180F t-stat.

I'd replace the switch. I can send you one, or you can get an 82C version from Autohauz (823 959 48182).

Bob,
I think I am going to try the 82C version. Can you verify the phone number for Autohauz. You version has one too many numbers.
Thanks,
Gary
