Is this really an ERA Car?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1963-...item3360af4bc2
I did not know they came with wooden looking dashboards?
Looks like my link did not take but the item is still on EB motors.

I tried to copy the full link, but no go.
Here's the eBay Motors item number:
2206654****6
For some reason, the item number won't even paste correctly??

Just go to eBay Motors and search "ERA Cobra" and it is the first one that pops up. Looks to me like the owner just added some "individual" touches of his own, like the wood dash, fancy seats and radio. All that can be remedied pretty easily. The standard dash is painted aluminum.

I didn't know ERA was producing a 289 body style in 1989? Interesting car, not all that bad, I don't care for a wooden dash myself, but...
I put in the full link, but can't get it to work either, not any of the numbers or shorten it or whatever, go figure.

Type the eBay listing number in your post, but put a dash between each number.
Users will have to retype the number on eBay without the dashes, rather than link or paste.
This is a known "bug".
thanks

They weren't. ERA started building 289 FIA kits in 1996.

Which then begs the original question...
Is this an ERA?

One of the photos seems to show the ERA chassis no. 2075. Maybe the seller made a typo -- 1989 instead of 1999.
REVISION: So Bob correctly identified the car as #2098. I read 2075. Hmm, could be time for some eyeglasses...

That is an ERA firewall setup, so I think your right Sundude, the '89 year is a typo.
Actually, I like the car, even the wooden dash is OK. In the early "sports car" years a wooden dash was common for the up-scale cars of the time. I've seen no wooden dash setups on a Cobra that I personally cared for, this may be the exception. All in all, well done.

Did you see the ERA Cobra ebay listing for item 280554235937?
There is a nice young lady in some of the pictures, but she seems to be having a wardrobe malfunction with her drivers suit. She can't seem to get the zipper to go above her belly button in any of those pictures...

Well only Peter P. or Bob could tell you when it was made. Chassis 2075 or so would have been 2002/ 2003 or so. Plus it has an aluminum radiator the older ones have a brass radiator. I've been watching this one too. It does have some personalized tastes that don't appeal to me but nothing that can't be fixed. I'm wondering if the price was a typo too. It did have a buy it now price of $32,500 at first. Who knows, maybe a fire sale, maybe a divorce?? The wood dash looks like a thin laminate over the original. If you look close the switches are recessed into the dash and you can see the thickness at the steering column. The seats I would leave with him or give to a rice burner somewhere. It could be cleaned up pretty good. I'd have to see it before though to see what it looks like in person. These cars can go south real quick and you all know what I'm talking about. Interesting though, it has a Georgia title! There must be another lucky DMV experience out there!

Definitely an ERA FIA. I don't have anyone listed in Fort Wayne, so it might not be the original owner. Chassis 2098 would put it around 2005 vintage.

sold for $30K...that on the face of it looks like a great deal...change the seats, redo the dash...and I would think you'd have a nice car!

I'd change the seats, I think I might leave the dash. That's a great price for $30K, like you say, on the face of it.

I don't believe that it sold. I was watching it and it appeared to be pulled just before the auction was to end.

I suspect $30K was to low a number and that may be why the car was re-listed.
It is confirmed it's an ERA, as such, it would be very difficult to "screw up the car", other than custom stuff. Seats, dash, etc. ERA is in incredibly well built, solid car. There is no way you will find an FIA style ERA, finished, for $30K or under. It's worth more than that, the question is, can you GET more than that with the current economy!

Mmm, somethings don't add up? Obviously the build date is not right, the total cost to build $57332.33 but will sell for $35,000 (something doesn't add up), 495 HP from a 351W what kinda heads, cam, intake, etc. (this is stretching what a stock 351W can do, stroker motor no problem), "true Shelby knock off's" or are they Trigo wheels (THERE'S a BIG $ difference), 2" exhaust pipes (really) that's pretty big (probably 1 5/8"), undercar exhaust so you don't burn your legs. ( FIA's side pipes are already under the side not like a 427's pipes, the undercar exhaust really limits the ground clearences AND forget having all that HP, it's gone now! " I will consider trades but not for anything that isnt in the investment price that I have in this car." How much does he have in it NOT to already lose 22K??
I don't know, might be the deal of the century? Might be a bag of poo? You would HAVE to see this one for your self and make the call. When something sounds to good to be true, it usually isn't.
