Default High Quality Soft Top & Frame

Need a top for my ERA FIA - ideal would be a hard top. Issue is gassing up an FIA with a top on (don't like the Lemans top), as the FIA filler ends up inside of the top. Are there any 'more robust' hoop frame sets for soft tops - that make them less prone to rattle etc? FFR has a deal with a soft top builder (Rod Tops DTS) for a superior top - not affected by wind. But expensive - and to do one for an ERA it would be 100% custom and very expensive ($5,000). Don't recall my old MGA top being a problem - but that was 40 years ago - Jim Morrison & the munchies!! Any tips on a better quality soft top frame and maybe I will go that route - as it's a quick "unsnap" to get to the filler, and you're off! Still in the evaluation phase!! Thanks. Rick

My top is almost always up. No rattle problems. Just an easy unsnap to fuel up & snap it back down. Splash guard is a big help as well. Hard Top would be a cool option from ERA.

if you want a hardtop, i can mold a filler well into a DragonSnake hardtop, coupla pieces of tuping and sum rubber hose, presto, exterior filler, and you can smoke a ceegar and not worry about blo'in yerself up from gas fumes in the cockpit.

I was talking to Peter about side curtains for my 427 the other day. Sounds like they have lost whatever supplier used to make them. He said they will make them at ERA, but he aint real happy about it...

Mr. Bruce, there's a hot lead for ya.

I've run my FIA with the factory top on. Fill up by reaching through the side window ( I don't normally run the windows). Works just great unless you are real sloppy.
