Way too much money in this market for a 428 powered car. Keep focused on that FIA you wanted.

Sorry, I commented on the wrong car. That FIA is nice, but just too much $$.

It's not a tribute to Shelby, Enzo, Duntov, DeLoreon, etc. , but a tribute to a baseball player who happened to be a car collector? Me have no idea how that adds value. In fact, it would be worth more to me if John Voight owned it.

Really nice car, and low $50's wouldn't be a bad price, but I would have to see the "Yankee blue" in person and the 44's would have to go immediately. On the other hand, I'd rather have the aluminum bodied Kirkham at around the $60K figure.

http://http://inventory.blackhorsega...obra-289%20FIA

I'm in love with this car. It doesn't seem to be an over the top build, but it will certainly bring a high price tag. Really seems to be done right.

sorry the link does not seem to work. copy and paste it in. definitely worth it.

It's linked in an earlier post, nice car, but overpriced for what it actually is.

Default i disagree with being overpriced

its a pretty well thought out car...and ERA build...with webers..you could not build that car for the price they are asking...a painted roller like that would be close to $50K..and a motor and driveline would be another $15K...if you could purchase for the high $40's you have done very well

I think everyone in the audience can say that about their cars. If I were selling, you couldn't build my car for what I've got in it, but what does mean in terms of selling a Cobra today, in this market, at this time of year. Especially considering there's a polished Kirkham FIA asking $62,500 "languishing" on the market.

It's overpriced from a buyer's perspective. From the seller's perspective, not so much.

EDIT: Ron posted while I was writing.

Ron,

I can't tell you how many qualified buyers I've pointed to your car. Well over a dozen.....It's a long shot, but I sent you a PM with my counter proposal.

I'm insulted that they decided to take their negotiations off line. That's just not right.

I'm actually conflicted about keeping the 289/Toploader combo or not.

So, Bill what color would you paint it?

Paint, Who would I get to paint such a thing of beauty . Besides, I'm thinking about just getting a case of red scotchbrite pads and going back to that raw aluminum look if I could ever swing it.

That would be the ultimate Cobra (with the exception of an original). Certainly worth some thought. I agree, no paint necessary.

Bill,

I agree with you as I had a Kirkham FIA brushed with polished stripes and liked that much better than the fully polished cars. Sold mine in a much better market 5 years ago for $ 70K and it just had a mild 289 with single 750 Holley with top loader.

Still searching as Ron does not want the coin collection and I just don't have time to sell it.

Too many pieces, not enough spare time to properly market them.
