ERA 427 Fuel Log

on an ERA does it matter if the fuel log is front or rear inlet. I'm leaning towards a rear outlet but i've seen pictures of the fuel line in the front inlet?

If you're running a mechanical pump on the front left it may be easier to do front inlet log. The rear fitting is usually used for a mechanical fuel pressure gauge.

The hard fuel line that runs along the driver's side frame rail ends at (essentially) the left front of the motor, a short distance from where the mechanical pump would be located on the front of the motor. The line can be changed of course, but 99% of the cars have the fuel line travel up the left front of the engine block to the carbs.

KGS365 - consider having your engine builder slap on a fuel pressure gauge there on your engine. It's a nice, handy diagnostic tool that will eventually be useful. A lot of under-hood fuel pressure gauges don't always read correctly with the change in temps (especially the liquid filled ones), but that's not as big a deal as you might think. Even though the gauge might, at times, read wrong, it will consistently read wrong -- so you'll get used to the unusual readings and it will indeed tell you what you need to know. And they look kind of cool, too.
