[Dangerous Doug]

Installing my windwings purchased from ERA, and I found that the mounting blocks that screw onto the side of the windshield have a hole drilled straight, but the windshield frame wants the screw to come in at a small angle.

Are these blocks machined correctly? They absolutely will not fit. Looks to be off by about 15-degrees.

Did I get the correct mounting blocks?

You are correct.
I drilled & tapped separate holes for the wind wings in the mounting brackets.

Meaning you drilled new holes into the windshield frame post, tapping separate mounting holes in the frame, or you redrilled the machined blocks with an angled hole?

Yes to the first part.
I drilled & tapped new holes in the posts, towards the rear half so the screws would just clear the windshield frame on the inside if they were a touch long.

I put the block in the mill and run a hole through on the correct angle. Send them to me if you want.

I felt that asking that very thin brass strip that the screws thread into in the windshield frame, was asking too much of it to support both.
Mounting the bracket separately makes for a very solid mount for the wind wings & does not add any stress to the windshield mounting screws.
