Default ERA 778 On The Street At Last!

Hey everyone!

Just wanted to let you know that I got ERA 778 on the street this week - titled, registered, and tagged! I'm legal and it's running pretty well, just need to fiddle with the carb a little.

Only problem so far is that I've got an oil leak at the gauge - Smith's mechanical - Hopefully I can get that corrected this week.

Can't wait to really get some driving time in - so far only 15 miles - too many family obligations to do more before Tuesday...

Mine leaked too initially. Just try to tighten in up (remember the direction the fitting tightens). With the dashboard mounted on the car, it appears opposite.

Must be nice to be on the road - enjoy. Sometimes compression and flare fitings respond well to several cycles of snugging them down firmly, loosen, tighten. Don't need to crank down real tight when doing it.

good luck

Very nice. If the only issue is a drip from the line to the Smiths guage I count that as absolutely, positively next-to-nothing.

Be careful if you take it apart there is a small washer you do not want to loose.

Hey! Got to work on the car yesterday. After talking with Doug at ERA, just wrapped the treads on the back of the gauge with teflon tape and put it all back together. Preto! No leak! (Of course it was two hours to get the dash off and back on and everything tidied up again.

Harold .... CONGRATULATIONS !!! Looks like you got the SC DMV issue cleared up .... now for the fun part . Glad to see another ERA in SC .... and it looks great .
Let me know when you have it " de bugged " and maybe you could get it down to Carolina Motorsports Park for even more fun . `Course , be careful ... it can consume you ( I`m ordering new racing shocks , springs and resetting all car weights etc on scales ! ) .

Bob
