Hi Patrick,

Thanks, this is a great document. I'm traveling but have downloaded it and will read it thoroughly as soon as I can. Looks like this has every option and consideration I was looking for.

Regards,

Kevin

OK, you get bonus points for reading it during a boring business meeting while pretending to pay attention to the discussion. Double points for billing your time to two or more clients for the same session during which you were really just reading car stuff at the table.

Ahh, you're on to me. Although I do travel extensively for business and am guilty of the offenses you outlined above, this is not a business trip. My son is a diver for the Univ. of Pittsburgh and this weekend is the Big East championships. As long as I do my Dad thing and video all his dives, I can read this when the others are diving...

Thanks - I read this forum a lot and can see that you are both one of the most helpful contributors as well as one of the most picked on. All in good fun, it seems, except maybe the dual rollbar thing

Thanks,

Kevin

Gsharapa,
When purchasing one, how do you identify the 9" K&N filter elements you mention? K&N's webside only specifies filter elements by using factory stock vehicle descriptions, with nothing available for 65 or 66 Cobra's.

Naaah, go here: K&N Universal Air Filter, Crankcase Vent Filter, Flame Arrestor, and Filter Wrap Search by Dimension and you can input the dimensions you want and it will tell you the filters you can choose from, along with pics and sizes.

My bad. I thought the rollbar crack would negate that but apparently not.

Just like my Turkey Pan, they are both easily removable.

My KnN oval was only letting in 384cfm. Seemed ok to me. I decided to use the edelbrock 1000 cfm triangle. I know I know the foam can melt. I took the foam out and replaced it with different material that won't melt or burn. How much cfm flowing is a guess but it flows alot more for sure.

The search function does not reveal such an election. Another fiction from the master.

Well, turn out at the polls was admittedly low, but I came in first place nonetheless. I know kevins2 cast his ballot and I think he put me over the top. I think Computerworks was a staunch supporter as well....

OK, so I was expressing some appreciation for his help, but just to keep it real, I said Patrick is ONE of the most helpful contributors (re-read my post). I think he took a little creative license with my words to get to THE most helpful. I'm sure some of you that know him better can explain why he would do such a thing...

Kevin ... sorry , I`ve been out of town for the past 3 days . I wasn`t running an oval cleaner . I have a 14" dia. unit with a 3" tall element ( K&N ) on a drop base I got from Robert Pond . Leaves me with about 1/16" clearance on the passenger side , but since the motor torques that way , it isn`t a problem . I can`t run that filter if I run a spacer , so I took the filter off while running tests to see how the engine responds to the 4 hole unit . So far ... I really like the 4 hole tapered unit . Now I need to come up with a filter that will fit under the hood . I may just run it without a filter at the track and go ahead and let it be restricted by using the smaller 9" unit with the extreme top .... or try an oval unit .
The reason I had ERA cut away some of the support was that I was considering running two 4`s , but ended up with a single unit ( AED for the street and Pro Systems for the track ) .

Bob
