Dan,

An easy way to check is get some silly putty and make small mounds about 1/2" thick, that you place on the air cleaner where you think there will be interference. Lower the hood till almost closed, then check. If ok, keep going till the hood is closed and latched.

Very likely some of the silly putty mounds will be squished just a bit, and you can measure the thickness to give you an idea of how much clearance you actually have. If it's ok, repeat the test with the motor on and blip the throttle to get the motor to torque over a bit, remeasure the silly putty.

I am sure Bob can provide a number, but I would suspect one would want at least 1/4" to 3/8" minimum clearance.

DanEC: I honestly don't remember if my rotors came with the bearings. I do remember packing them with grease. I think they came with the kit. Best to just call Bob or Doug at ERA.

Have fun with your build!

There was a front suspension hardware kit option (bearings, seals, dust caps and spindle bolts) that I overlooked when I ordered my car and the bearings are in it. Talked to John at ERA yesterday and he is fixing me up.

I thought that bearings and the bearing race were usually matched up and replaced/sourced together - maybe I'm wrong about that. I did have the dust caps and spindle nuts/washers with the car. I think it would make sense to supply the bearings with the complete front end but its no big deal.

Thanks

Dan

Dan...just wanted to get back regarding the post I made earlier in this thread. After driving the car, I can confirm that my annoying "dash" squeak has gone away with the addition of the foam rubber between the front of the radiator and the filler piece at the front of the hood opening. My car is "tight" now...

- Allen.

If you hear any rattles and squeeks, your pipes aren't loud enough!
