Hotfingrs
True for Chevrolets, and Small blocks. I checked with few manufaacturers, could not find ANYBODY who manufactures mechanical fuel pumps other than Holley and Carter for FE engines.

Please let me know if you know differently.

I'm kinda at a loss here. I'm on vacation until March 5th, so I can't get the phone number for you. The company I got my carb and fuel pump from is called C & S Specialties, and I believe they are around St Louis. They rework the carb ala Barry Grant, and also rework fuel pumps. The pump I have looks like an Edelbrock mechanical pump. They change diaphram and springs and also add a by pass to the pump. Don' know what their Ford line is, but will post a number when I get home....and you can give them a call.

Turk,

500 miles on the pump and no problems. I had a holly and put over 1500 on it......I am only running 3 lbs now so we will see if the backpressure causes any problems but I don't think it will.

I know too many guys that got stranded because of the freakin Holley Fuel Pumps.

I am happy with Carter so far. Something as primitive and uncmplicated as a mechanical fuel pump should have been the last thing to go wrong in an engine bay with that is full of period corrrect antique FE parts. When one of the only NEW components failed I was not a happy camper.

I honestly don't know anyone else who makes a mechanical fuel pump for an FE besides those two.
