Pulled the trigger today
Just sent my $5K deposit to ERA for a Slabside.
Looks like one year out before I get it; I can wait.

Yes, but anyone can make a poor decision quickly. Waiting for a custom, hand built to your specifications, ERA car is difficult, but it will be the best car-related-decision you will ever make.

In the "non-aluminum Cobra body" category, yes.
Congrats on the new purchase Dacobb.

Congratulations! You will enjoy your ERA, they are a nice car. What are your plans for engine, transmission and color?

Congratulations! Wonderful choice. Care to share some details or are you still thinking about your options and color?

Probably a Ford Windsor motor putting out around 400 hp. Apparently the Boss blocks don't fit well in this car.
TKO 600 transmission.
Thinking Princess Blue with red leather seats and door panels, black carpet and dash.

I visited beforehand to read up on Cobra stuff; since I didn't own one I guess I just didn't feel the need to post.
I'll be chipping in now that the order has been placed.

That seems pretty fast to me--I started contemplating building an ERA in 1999!

Yes, I suppose if you can still fog a mirror then it's not too late to get on the list. I first looked at swinging a Contemporary purchase back in 1984, but just couldn't quite pull the trigger. In hindsight, I probably didn't have enough dough to really do it right anyway.

Yeah, in '99 I thought I could finish the kit for $45k all-in. Now that I'm further into the process, I realize I needed to add at least $25k to that number at that time, which I definitely didn't have.

Me too. Not to be outdone - I got a brochure from ERA in 1980 and studied up on them and finally placed my deposit in 2009. it was a long term plan.

Welcome to the ERA family. My #375 has been very dependable and enjoyable over the many years I have owned her.
