Will Richmond Super Street fit in ERA?
Bob,
Will a Richmond Super Street OD 5 speed fit in an ERA 427 without frame modifications? I know ERA used to use a lot of the 4+1 Richmonds. The Super Street is 1.5" longer to the transmission mount, than the old Richmond 4+1. The belly of the transmission looks like it will be really close, if not in contact with the cross member. I have a car on order and wanted to give Peter a break. I have been wearing him out with questions. I am leaning towards the Richmond, but if it requires frame mods, I will go with a Tremec. Thanks. Sorry, but that 5 speed requires frame mods. It's too fat at the back.

Thanks.

Decision is now made. It will be a TKO 600 w .82. Can you do; 1. Bronze shift fork pads 2. Surface enhancement on the hubs and sliders 3. Mods to the internal linkage to improve the 2-3 shift 4. Carbon fiber blocking rings How much for the above? Is an aftermarket shifter needed or is the Tremec unit acceptable? I would like the long input shaft to push the shifter back the extra 3/8" or so. Is there a Quicktime bell for that? John |
John,
I can get you pricing tomorrow. The Tremec shifter isn't bad, but it doesn't have adjustable stops and is kinda vague feeling. The standard length input shaft will save you some money and the QuickTime part number for that is RM-6056. |
Ok, so it's not tomorrow.....
$3195 for a TKO 600 RR with Sure Shift upgrade. |
