Turk,

No you're not the only obsessive/compulsive to have this "annoyance". (Hey, what the heck happened to the smileys?)

However, unlike the rest of the gasholes around here, I fixed it.
Go down to your local "Radio Hack" (not a typo) and get an assortment of 1 watt resistors. You'll need to experiment to find the right value, but probably about 100 ohm or so. Splice them in series with the indicator light until it looks right to you. (Or take these guys advice and drive around blind. Heck, you're on the left coast so you can't hit me!)

Later,

TURK:

All the high beam indicators I have ever used popped out when they were turned on. They may have gotten to be a darker shade after use, but never all the way to blue. You need to be easy on your equipment

what a bunch of, well, opinions. I happen to be looking for a BLUE
lens cap/indicator/snap-in/replacement for my Smiths Speedometer because it is RED and it confuses the h*** out of me because the Generater indicater is also RED and is next to the high beam indicater lens which I already said is RED too.
Don't "stick it in your *** ME! Instead just go out and find the part and mail it to me free of charge, as in GRATIS. The one I want
to replace looks like a "precious stone" or "gem" cut, but is plastic. To make it "Look" like a "gem", they apply a "Star" design over the round top of the lens. Smart ehhh? It actually looks like an Electric Range Stove indicater light lens. But I want a dark Blue Topaz color. I thought at the worse case scenario, just go to Kay's
Jewelers, buy a $29.95 man-made Blue Topaz and stick it in there.
Who's gonna know?
