Default Installing New Headlights & Relays

Bob, I am going to install 7" Cibie lights with 55/60 watt blubs with two relays; one for low beam and the other for the high beam circuit. The new wiring will be protected by fuses where connected to the battery cable on the starter relay. I was planning to install the relays in the forward engine compartment near the radiator top so that the existing wires to the headlights could be used to switch the new relays. It was suggested to install the relays under the dash to avoid engine compartment heat to increase the relay life. Considering the wiring on ERA545, where would you place the relays and where would you connect to the existing headlight circuit for the switched source (off, low and high)? Thanks

29,

If they're standard automotive relays, they'll have no problem in the engine compartment.
