Default Pop rivets

Bob

I know this sounds nuts but I removed my hood scoop a while back and cant find pop rivets to match the ones in the front of the hood. The ones you guys used a while back (car # 377) were a lot nicer than the ones Jeff sent me a couple weeks ago.

I tried all the different brands including Stanley (New Britain CT.) and can't seem to find the right match. I would'nt mind changing them all but the heads on the old ones are really a lot nicer. Any chance you may have some hidden away somewhere ?

Thanks-G

Gary,

I hadn't realized that we had changed - but then I'm (fortunately) not privy to minute stuff. Can you send me a picture of your old rivet?

The critical deal is to use aluminum rivet and mandrel, so the paint isn't cracked when the rivet is "popped".

Gary and Bob-

Surely Evan Harris would be the obvious person to contact regarding this riveting issue?

I like having the hood scoop glassed in place with the rivits for trim only. Then I take the shaft out of the middle, polish the heads, and glue them in the holes. No paint cracks then.
