Default Steering Rack

Bob, is there an adjustment for the axial runout on the steering rack you provide? My rack appears to have a fair amount (>1/8")of in/out play at the input shaft...when turning right the input shaft moves outward at the rack , and pushes the steering shaft and wheel out toward the driver enough that the turn signal won't cancel; when turning left it moves the wheel in so that the wheel hub drags on the turn switch and will actually turn on the left blinker. The gap between the wheel hub and the turn signal assy. changes as the steering wheel goes from full right to full left lock. Ever run into this problem? Is there another adjustment I'm missing that will keep the axial shaft movement at the rack from pushing or pulling on the steering shaft(s)? Any way to limit the movement at the rack?
Thanks in advance.

Ken,

That's definitely not right.

Is your rack a one-piece aluminum casting or does it have a steel intermediate tube between the ends? I think the best thing is for us to just replace it.

Bob, it has an intermediate steel tube, with aluminum castings at each end.
Email me (mr0077@houston.rr.com) and let me know best way to proceed.
Thanks
