Default Transmission Length ERA

I'm trying to get all of my info lined up here. In the ERA Manual it recomends using the short shaft toploader. I have an early (1964) 5 bolt 289 block & I believe that most of the toploaders that fit this bellhousing have the long shaft. My question is this...Will the long shaft work & if not what are my options?

T.P., (Hey - I didn't pick the name! )

The long tailshaft will work, although I would check the location of the shift linkage (also shown in the manual, I hope) just in case it's different from the recommended position. The 289 mounts the linkage at the front position.

We also don't stock the shorter driveshaft, but since we place orders every 6 weeks or so, we just need a warning from you about your "special needs" if you want to get it from us. If not, I can send you a blueprint if the specs for the long-tailshaft box aren't in the manual.
