Turn Signal Wand
Bob-
I took the car out for its maiden voyage yesterday (the grin still hasn't gone away) and the car was great. All vital statistics were good and the car felt very solid with no bumps, rattles or squeaks. I was surprised at how well it handled considering it hasn't even had a proper wheel alignment yet.
There was one thing that I noticed though that I'd like to change. Right now the turn signal wand is on the right side of the steering wheel, and I found it awkward to use the turn signal, shift and make right turns all at the same time. Is it possible to relocate the wand to the left side of the wheel? And if so, how do I do it? (If it's in the manual I apologize, just tell me where the look.) By the way, I have the ERA column.
Thanks,
Mike

Mike,
It is in the manual, page 96 I believe. I think you simply turn the column 180 degrees.
I too have mine pointing toward the right. My problem is that when I am driving one of our other vehicles and make a turn I end up turning on the windshield wipers.
To preserve the authenticity, you may wish to convert your other cars so that they are all on the right side.

Thanks Rick. You're right, I should convert the other cars. After driving the cobra yesterday, I later got in the daily driver, which is an automatic (wife can't drive a sticK), and, as I approached a turn I tried to put the clutch in and reached for the gear shift in an effort to downshift. As you can imagine the left foot went to the floor (didn't hit anything) and thankfully the shifter didn't move out of drive Luckily the right foot found the brake a split second later.
BTW, did you get your heatshields from Finishline? I may break down and get some. I've already burned myself, which I can tolerate, but I'll never hear the end of it if the wife burns herself

Chap,
You don't even have to turn the column. The switch is secured to the column by a single screw coming in from the bottom, I think. Just loosen the screw and rotate the switch on the column.

Chaplin,
You are making me feel bad. ERA649 should be on the road before 650.

Thanks Bob. I'll try that and see if it works.
ERA649-
649 does in fact come before 650. What's the hold up? You'd better get busy

Mike,
Yes, the shields are from Finish Line. So far, no burns. I wasn't sure about the look when I first put them on, but I've grown to like them.

Thanks Bob. And by the way you're right. Loosen up one set screw and rotate to your liking. Much better now
