Your ERA is going to be quite the machine. I saw your fire breathing motor a couple of months ago when I 1st visted the ERA plant. I hope to see it when it is finished.

Sal's ERA is really a nice piece of work. Very Nice job by ERA.

To answer your question regarding what could be plated?

I would suggest that the rear end suspension components could be Hot Coated in silver. ERA does alot of this coating done on suspension parts on the GT40s they build.

You could have the drive shaft, half shafts and all tie rods coated silver as well as front end suspension parts. I have seen this done and it looks really nice. You can also have the gas tank polished to a brite finish. Mine is done that way and it is like a mirror.

Also, as done on Sal's car, the engine compartment could be fitted with aluminum sides and if you want to gilt the lilley, you could do the trunk in aluminum as well.

Thanks Mike. When Sal gets his new ERA home, you may want to go and introduce yourself to him as he is in your area. Sal's ERA has some really nice details that are worthy of note. He has the three pot fluid reservoirs, twin SC pusher fans, and as stated earlier the aluminum engine compartment side panels (which by the way a visible from the wheel wells. I do think I remember his car having the big front brakes as well as the ERA rear suspension with the outboard brakes.

I am sure Sal would be a great person to advise you on these options. It is nice to "see" how these options manifest themselves on a real car vs trying to visualize them from a catalog.

Hi Sal: It's very interesting watching your Cobra come together. It appears to me we are building very similar cars. I think I am going to do the aliminum engine compartment as you have done and have Metal-Morphus (great name don't you think?) do the inside of the hood. I'll probably take a ride down to ERA in May. I'll make sure to scope out your car close up. It really is going to be beautiful. Mike
